Words make scars too.

They see her soft smile.
They see her laugh.
Yet, they don't see
The pain in her eyes,
The flame in her soul,
The scars on her delicate skin,
The monsters trapped in her head,
The demons consuming her heart.
But...
She likes it that way.
No one needs to worry.
No one needs to care.
The little girl seems strong.
in reality...
She's weak.
She's frail.
One mistake,
And she'll break.
But you'd never know
You'll never see,
If she breaks.
She hides the pain she feels.
Or the devil's deals.
She hides the marks.
On her skin.
Hides them where
Others would never look.
Scars not from blades.
But from words.
Words so sharp
They cut like blades.
She writes them on her skin
Over and over.
Until the words
Breaks her skin.
Making her bleed.
Leaving the words forever,
Imprinted on her skin.
To show the world
What's she's been called.
What she's thought.
What she's heard.
Who she is.
