The three moons shone brightly down on the large sand dune covered desert, making them cast long shadows that towered over other dunes like dragons. The three moons cast their eerie and luminescent light down on a small bulge in the sand, a tiny little object poking just barely out of the sand.
Suddenly, the sound of heavy wing beats filled the silent air, their flapping noises roaming closer and closer to the small object. Out of nowhere, two massive dragons plunged out of the sky, one as black as night and the other a very pale tan color. A NightWing and SandWing, both had scowls plastered on their stoic snouts.
"So this is it? This is the pathetic rat of an egg that you had?" The NightWing asked his companion, his aura dark and threatening, as he landed on the sand with a small thud.
Then he used his sharpened talons to easily dig up the object, which happened to be an egg, a dragon egg. It's shell instantly turned to the same eerie silver color as the three moons that shone brightly overhead.
"What? What's wrong with it?" The SandWing asked, interested in the, now silver, egg. Her beady black eyes narrowed in confusion and interest. "Is it because it's a hybrid?" She asked the NightWing, tilting her head.
The NightWing didn't answer, but stared in wonder at the egg before him. It wasn't normal for a NightWing egg to turn silver, but then again, not very many NightWings had witnessed a hatching.
And then it hit him, that's it! The moons! They're full, I remember something about the elders speaking of a legend; if an egg is hatched under the light of the full moons, they will be very powerful. Yes! The NightWing thought to himself, his gaze wondering over the egg before him.
"Morrowseer! Answer me!" The SandWing hissed into her companion's ear, the impatience clear in her voice. "What's wrong with it?" She asked, with that slithery tone of hers.
Morrowseer glanced up at the SandWing, his eyes telling her everything, almost.
"Turns out, this little creature could be of use to us. That is, if we let it live." Morrowseer sneered. "Blister, this egg has been unleashed to the light of the full moons, which means, he or she will have power like no other." Morrowseer explained, his eyes glowing with excitement.
Blister narrowed her beady eyes at him, yet again. Her gaze traveled along the silver egg before her, it's shell a filmy white. Beneath the surface, she could just barely see a small dragonet squirming around inside.
"What type of power?" Blister asked, curling her tail around her front talons. Then she grabbed the egg from Morrowseer, holding it ever so delicately, making sure not to easily crush it into a million pieces.
Morrowseer glanced at Blister with a certain look on her face that read 'oh I'm sure that you very well know'.
Blister ran the thoughts through her head, thinking and calculating up a possible solution until it hit her as well as him, So, after all these years, it's finally happened. A dragon who can read minds and have so called visions of the future has come into our midst. Blister glared at the egg, jealousy clouding her thoughts.
"We should kill it right here, right now. That thing will only ruin our lives, and it already has." Blister sneered, letting a hiss escape from her throat.
But before she could crush the silver egg, Morrowseer quickly snatched it from her sharpened talons. He placed the egg gently on the ground, then curled his long tail around it protectively.
"What are you doing? We need this thing! It could be useful to us in the future, besides, we could use it for the prophecy, then we'd at least have one dragon who won't be a disappointment!" Morrowseer snapped at Blister, his eyes glowering.
Instantly, Blister shot up into a fighting position. With her barbed tail pointed dangerously at the massive NightWing.
"You are not putting that egg into your stupid prophecy! That egg will be like any other dragon, it'll fight in this war and make sure that I win. Do you understand?" Blister growled, her voice full of a mother's worry.
Morrowseer scoffed angrily, then pushed the egg towards his front talons, then stroked his talons across it.
"Fine, I have a solution. We take the egg and you raise it until it's about a year old. Then we take it back to the island and we train it to use its powers. Deal?" Morrowseer held out a talon to shake Blisters, but she stood dumbfounded.
Blister burst out into a laughing fit, then sat down and curled her tail back over her talons.
"No deal, I raise it until it's a year old then we drop it off in the rain forest and ta dah! Problem solved, but you're Going to help me raise it to the age of one and train it to use its powers, then off it goes. Deal?" Blister explained happily, with her slithery voice using that tone of persuasion.
Morrowseer heaved an aggravated sigh, then took her talons in his. He shook her talons then pulled away, placing his claws on the egg.
"Deal." He grumbled, then stood up and stretched his starry skied wings. "Now we wait until the egg hatches."
