My Unrequited First Love

Grade 8th.

I was in my 8th grade back then when I met him

He was so cute, a little chubby, tall, white and handsome.

Back then I didn't know that I would gradually fall for him. I mean, yeah with all the characteristics he has plus the fact that he's also smart, my heart unexpectedly went uneasy everytime I see him.

He wasn't my classmate. Our rooms are 1 block apart. But he would always passed through our room during break.

He was also my neighbor. We lived in the same subdivision which I did not know until I saw him rode a tricycle from our place on point.

He was with his sister.

I've already met his sister a few times and we were able to walk by home together and talked but I did not know she is his sister.

Then one day unexpectedly..

"Oh sige na, truth or dare! Pag natalo either e-ke-kwento niyo secrets niyo or uutusan kayo. Ano game?" Says my classmate

We were circling inside our room. Everyone was so excited and chilled knowing that they would be able tell who their crushes are. The excitement just leveled up the ceiling of our room.

I was not exempted. They were my squad so I joined the game. I don't even have a crush, or so I thought.

"Truth or Dare?" It was my turn

"Hmm.. sige truth nalang" I was not excited like they are. Wala naman akong crush. I said to myself.

"Okay! Hmm.. ano ba? Ah eto, sino crush mo?"

Psh. As expected.

"Wala ! Haha" I answered.

"Ya! Kj mo naman. Sino nga? Sabihin mo na. Tayo-tayo lang naman!" Pangungulit niya.

"Eh wala nga! Wala naman nga akong crush eh. Alangan naman mag sinungaling ako dba? Mamaya ma issue pa ako tapos mag assume yung lalaki" I jokingly answered.

"Asus eh baka kasi madevelop ka! Haha si Sev nlang oh bagay kayo" and they all laugh.

Then he passed by.

He was laughing with his friends cutely and all I know was my heart beating fast and the slow motion of everything and everyone around me.

"Hala! Si Edward? crush mo si Edward?!"

I was brought back to life.

"Ha? Anong sinasabi mo?"

I was taken aback.

"Crush mo si Edward! Oyyy crush mo siya no? Hinatid mo nga siya ng tingin eh! Oyyy, ya! friend ko si Edward, re-regards kita? Sabi niya.

It was as if my heart is having a tournament that is racing fast and loud.

"Hoy! Hindi ah! Ano lang, eh kapitbahay ko kasi yun, recently ko lang nalaman! Pinagsasabi niyo!"  I glared.
