Otaku, what is an otaku? From what I, Jidoku Kitaki can describe it, he describes it with only two words "Anime love". Well being an otaku does not only include anime, being an otaku can also pertain to obsessive interests in particular aspects of popular culture.
Yeah that's right, I am one of those individuals who sees the quality of life in an animated drawing breathed to life by voice actors and actresses.
I murmured these words that were not understandable in the whole class while waiting for the dismissal. In other words I just thought of anime-related stuff all day while staring through the window. I felt so impatient that I just thought or just daydreamed of anime.
That day was the last day of school.
Tick tock... Tick tock.. as the clock ticks. I was shaking in excitement. I cannot hold in my excitement to spend my most beloved time if the year, it is the gift of God called summer vacation.
The month of April on its eleventh day, the smell of summer vacation. The students of Koyomi private high school most-awaited time of the year. Bells ringing, students bound with excitement, smiles of students are shining within the school. But then words with joy and excitement can be heard by the 16 year old second year high school teen named Jidoku Kitaki.
" Minna-san!!! Banzai desu, watashi can watchu anime desu."
Here we can see an anime fanatic or addict trying to speak Japanese determined, but poorly. I was seen running like a ninja to the exit of the academy with a grin of excitement with happiness and also with haste. When I got out of the school premises, a windy breeze struck me with the smell of freedom. I inhaled deeply and started going home.
While riding a public transportation going home, It's a hobby of mine to listen to anime music everywhere, every time, to relieve my boredom of the outside world. When I always sing every anime lyric out of my mouth, my Otaku spirit always rise up to the max, ahhh..... what a time to be alive.
Until I reached my house shouting " Tadaima" (which translates to "I'm home") in the doorstep. With my parents yelling "SHUT UP". Then I removed my shoes and put it aside. After managing my "school stuff", I went to my own room to change clothes until I looked in the mirror. An average and nobody kind of image showed in the mirror. What do you expect from a guy who's not born special and just blends in with the general public?
But it seems that I lost a few pounds because I skipped meals for the sake of watching anime. But I am still an overweight delinquent that has weight higher than 130 pounds. I'm unhealthy and I am so lazy that I can't get a healthy physique, but I do not mind if my weight is like the weight of anime characters in which they have a healthy body that makes them attractive, but it seems making myself fit is just maybe impossible.
I, Jidoku, felt the excitement pouring in as I opened my mobile phone to start browsing the internet for watching an anime called "Watashi no sutekina kōkō ". Which translates to "My Nice Highschool". Huh, it showed in my recommended list and I did not regret watching it. High school life anime has the best school life there is. A perfect combination of Comedy, Romance, and Adventure. God, I can already tell the big difference between highschool in anime and highschool in reality.
Every anime addict but maybe not all, idolizes at least one anime character in an anime series.
"That guy, he lives a life where he has long gorgeous hair, he is handsome, his school uniform is stylish and wears rubber shoes, he has his own locker, he has his own part time job and has an own apartment, he has at least few but real friends to hang out the things that they like, he has a crush and that crush has a crush on him too!! Oh my..... what an anime life so perfect". Just the thought of it is so dreamy.
