I slipped into my lighter, less formal clothes. A navy blue tunic under a silver breastplate, black leather pants, and a blue cloak. Choosing to skip the shoes, I slid my swords into their sheaths and left my bedroom. I heard a yell.
"Argh!!!" There was a crash, and I gripped the handle of my blades. Running, I came upon the banquet hall door and saw Thor and Loki inside, sitting.
I walked in and saw a table overturned, the food scattered on the floor. Saying nothing, I faltered in my step.
"It'll come." Loki said quietly. "In time."
"What is this?" I saw the Three and Sif walking into the room. I continued on to my brothers. Loki whispered, so I couldn't hear what he said, but I caught a few words like "Laufey", "try again", "army", and "without defying".
Thor suddenly got up. Loki looked like he had done something horrible. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I know that look."
"It is the only way to ensure the safety of our borders."
"Thor. It's madness." Loki said.
"Madness?" Volstagg asked. "What sort of madness?"
"We're going to Jotunheim." Thor said.
"You realize this can get us killed?" I exclaimed.
"What?" Fandral said. "For once I agree with Erin. This isn't like a trip to Earth, where you summon a little lightning and thunder and the mortals worship you as a god. This is Jotunheim."
Thor opened his mouth and I decided it would be best not to listen to him say how Father did it so he could. I walked towards him and Loki drug his hand over his face.
"Why did I open my mouth?" He asked quietly, looking up at Thor, who walked towards our friends.
"You must tell Heimdall to call Father. We'll all be killed otherwise." I hissed.
"I was already planning on it." Loki murmured. He squeezed my hand and I looked up into his eyes, with were slightly greener than mine.
"What is it?" I asked softly.
"Erin . . . you know I love you dearly, right?" He asked, his eyes searching mine desperately.
"Of course, brother." I said, confused.
"Listen, I need you to stay near me while we are in Jotunheim. I don't want you to get hurt." Loki said, a slight plea in his voice. I nodded. Loki let go of my fingers and we followed our friends out of Asgard.
We dismounted and Loki stepped towards Heimdall. "Leave this to me." With a glance back at me, he faced the Gatekeeper.
"Good Heimdall-"
"You're not dressed warmly enough."
"I'm sorry?" Loki said quietly.
"You think that you can deceive me."
"You must be mistaken-"
"Enough!" Thor interrupted. I sighed as Thor stepped around Loki.
"Heimdall, may we pass?" He asked forcefully.
"Never has an enemy slipped my watch until this day." Heimdall said. "I wish to know how that happened."
"Then tell no one where we've gone until we've returned." Thor said. The others all passed Loki, and as Volstagg passed, he looked at him.
"What's the matter? Silver tongue turned to lead?"
