"Name?" George Washington, one of the counselors at Camp Princeton. His voice was deep, making me shudder. He seemed kind enough, but part of me didn't want to trust him.
"Alexander Hamilton.. My name is Alexander Hamilton." I squeak.
George Washington smiled, and I let out a sigh of relief. A smile meant that he liked me. Finally it seemed like an adult actually cared about what I had to say, which has never happened before.
"Well Mr. Hamilton, I'm happy to report that your in my cabin. Since your the last on my list, I can escort you there now." He says standing up. I stand up too, and extend my arm, offering for him to shake my hand. To this he raises an eyebrow and I quickly put my arm down.
"Need any helps with your bags?" George asks and I shake my head. I didn't have much, because of my home situation. I saw the other kids, with all of their luggage. I didn't have that. I only had a black backpack, that had necessities , like a tooth brush, a few rolled up shirts, an extra pair of shorts, hair brush, and a few rubber bands.
"I'm alright thanks though." I thank him, pushing the door open, holding it open for him. He smiles at the gesture and walks done a stone path. I run after him, taking abnormal steps to keep up with the man. We keep walking in silence until he finally breaks it saying
"I think you'll get along with the boys."
George Washington stopped in front of a medium sized log cabin, with a porch, a barrel with game of checkers on it, and some rocking chairs. It looked nicer then any foster I've ever lived in. The windows were open and I flinched when a loud crash came from inside.
George walks onto the porch, as do I and we stand there for about thirty seconds before I hear some voices and the door swung open.
"Welcome home Alexander!" Three voices shout in unison. Three boys stood in the doorway, smiling. One was wearing a red beanie, one had millions of freckles and he other had lots of puffy hair. They actually looked happy to see me.
I smile as they pull me in a hug and from that moment on I had an actual family. George cleared his throat and the boys released from the hug and pulled me inside the cabin.
There were two bunk beds, a few chairs, a few shelves where bags were to be kept and a small wooden desk. there was a small bathroom in the back, along with a twin sized bed for the counselor. I was right when I thought the cabin was bigger then the foster homes I've been in.
"Boys you should introduce yourselves." George exclaims. The boy wearing the beanie scoffed at this comment.
"I'm Hercules Mulligan, but I don't need an introduction." He exclaims jumping.
"Wasn't that just an introduction though?" The boy with freckles asks slapping his back laughing.
"SHUT UP JOHN!"
"MAKE ME!"
The other boy tapped my shoulder and I flinched. "Who are you?" I ask jumping back and he grinned. "Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette." He exclaims proudly. I didn't introduce myself because they already knew my name. "But most people call me Laf, mon ami."
"And over here is Johnny boy!" Hercules teases slapping the other boy's back who yelped in response. "Laurens and you will be sharing a bunk with Alexander." Laf exclaims smiling and I grin.
The boy with the freckles walked over towards me. "John Laurens, it's nice to meet you." He says and I see a faint blush on his cheeks. This ought to be interesting.
"Alexander Hamilton.. My name is Alexander Hamilton.. And there's a million things I haven't done. But just you wait.. Just you wait."
