I tipped my head back yet again to be met by the warm summer breeze; enveloping me in its arms. My oh my how I have been longing to just sit back and relax to clear my head of everything. Laying here under the sun I still couldn't believe that I was starting a new part of my life: college. Graduating was a feeling I still cannot put into words, I still remember endless nights of studying, volunteering, interning, and all the stressful things I went through to get into Stanford.
I always felt like it would never be enough. Now here I am days from leaving Long Island and heading to Stanford.
My dad always believed that the best way to achieve something is through your hard work. Him being the CEO of Cullen Enterprises did not make it any easier for me to get into Stanford, sure he was the one paying for the tuition but after all I interned for him! I worked with all my might, put my passion and heart into everything that I do. I was more than ready for this but honestly.. I was more ready to have the independent life and being able to do what I wanted. And after all new friends and hotties were waiting for me at Stanford.
I collected my long blond locks into a high ponytail away from my face, while trying to find my cover up. I could've sworn I left it on my beach towel before I took a dip. Ugh where is it now that I need to... "Caden!"
I whipped my face around only to be met by a pair of blue eyes, "I thought that was you, I wasn't quite sure until I saw you looking all around" he said while looking me up and down. "You look nice by the way, just like always babe" He teased while giving me a small wink. I shook my head and laughed "Don't call me that Brandon. I'm not your babe... at least not anymore. I mean come on we both knew it wasn't serious." Brandon my high school boyfriend and big crush, tsk tsk tsk all those years I thought I loved him till it was time to part ways and I felt nothing. He sure was one guy the girls would all be drooling over and turning heads. His piercing blue eyes, and dark blond hair, and that perfect bronze tan with a killer six pack being the soccer boy he was. And now looking at all that I felt no feelings toward Brandon, nothing that turned me inside out but we both knew when to call it quits. " I was just joking Caden, anyways I heard that you're leaving soon so I thought that I'd say my goodbyes now" Brandon scoffed. "Oh yeah? Bye then, you can go cha cha with that girl behind you " I shot back sarcastically, before he had a chance to say anything I grabbed my bag and made a run for it while a playful smile was plastered on my face.
Serves him right anyways.
As I was walking down to my car I heard my phone ringing with my mom's caller ID. Checking the time I immediately picked it up. Shit! I said I'd be back by four and it was already 5:47! "Hi sweetheart. You're running late and we will be having company over by 7:30! What the hell Caden, hurry up baby." I sighed as I failed to find my cover up which meant that I was in my Michael Kors black bikini. "Kay I'll be there in an hour?" I mumbled the last part."CADEN!" Oh she was getting angry. "Love you too mom, bye!"
I pulled up into the driveway when I noticed a black Bentley was already there. This can't be good, this is not fucking good. Now I can't get out of the car because I have a bikini and god knows who are the people visiting us. I have only one way out of this and that is calling Callie, my younger sister, to find out what's the deal. On the third ring she picked up "Omg Caden you won't believe who is here!" She was practically screaming and squealing at the same time."Callie I---"
"Caden why are you not getting out of the car! C'mon get out! He's about to come!!"
"CALLIE SERIOUSLY---"
"Oooops I got to go, mom is telling me to come back downstairs" And just like that she hung up
"Callie dammit and what am I supposed to do?" All of a sudden this brilliant idea came to me that I could sneak through the backyard and into my room without being noticed since whoever the last guest was did not appear yet. Just as I am half way getting out of the car I hear a car park on the driveway right behind me. I inwardly smack myself.... too late to go back now and then again I doubt he did not see me. I just hope its not one of my dad's business partners or friends.
I close my eyes and right when I open them I am met by the most deep dark forest green eyes... that could only belong to one person with that dashing, dazzling brilliant smile now smirking...
