Link, the hero of Hyrule, asleep for 100 years and expected to save everyone. That doesn't mean he is perfect though. Currently he was struggling with a group of Bokoblins in the forest. Link had been on his way to see Impa, on his mount when the group of red fiends ambushed them from the trees. He tried to run past them and just leave, but they had horses as well. They soon caught up to him.

Pushing his mottled brown steed to go faster, the hero emerged from the trees and into an open meadow. Unfortunately for Link, he was riding one of his slowest steeds. A Bokoblin shot a arrow at Link as they attacked from the edge of the forest. The arrow missed him but struck his horse's neck right in front of him. Shocked and in pain, the horse reared back and nearly tossed the hero from her back. Link held on tight and gritted his teeth. By the time his horse had calmed down, 5 Bokoblins had circled around them. Before the hero could urge his horse forward, the group of enemies unleashed a barrage of arrows upon them. One struck Link in the shoulder throwing him to the ground from his leather saddle.

Link's head snapped up as he heard an ear piercing shriek from his mount. Looking to the horse, his eyes widen when he saw multiple arrows sticking from the horse's side. Slowly the scream died out, and the horse fell dead to the earth. With an enraged yell, Link jumped up and pulled the arrow free from his shoulder, notched it onto his own bow, and shot one of the Bokoblins dead. It's horse ran off in a frenzy sending dirt and grass everywhere.

Using his own arrows, Link made easy work of the rest of the circling Bokoblins. Once finished, Link looked down to his dead companion with a sigh. This had happened a few times before. So he knew what to do. Leaving the corpse behind, Link closed his eyes and teleported from the large field.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself standing in front of a shrine he had beaten a few days prior. That's not where he was going though. Link ran to the edge of a nearby cliff and jumped, pulling out his para-glider and let the wind carry him down the small mountain. His blue eyes scanned the area below him, looking for something specific. That specific thing wasn't hard to miss so it was found within a few short minutes.

He dropped from the sky and safely landed in a small valley with a large, fairy like pond at the end of it. Malanya, the horse goddess lived here. She adored horses so much that in return for restoring her power, she would revive Link's many fallen steeds. Link put his para-glider away and walked over to the small flower covered pond and stood by the edge of the water.

The small pond filled with ripples, shaking violently before Malanya burst from the water, her horse mask like face twitching as she gazed down upon him.

"Greetings, hero. I presume you have come to ask of my assistance?" She asked in a deep, almost crazed voice. Link nodded. If Malanya had a mouth she would probably be frowning. "Another horse?" She asked, her voice dripping with venom, and it sent chills up Link's spine. He nodded again.

"You do realize this is becoming quite suspicious with how many of your horses are dying" Malanya said, Link looked at his feet. "Do not tell me that you're being careless, simply because you know I can revive them." She leaned in close and suddenly seemed very threatening. "I do not smell sadness or grief from your loss, so it must be true!" She yelled.

Link took a step back, starting to fear for his safety. He went to say something but the enraged goddess cut him off.

"You will pay for your fallen steeds lives with your own! I curse you! Hero! You have awoken an anger that burns bright! Now face the consequences!"

Malanya hand shit towards Link at the breakneck speed before he had time to run. The large hand snatched up Link and she dove into the spring, .dragging the helpless hero into the murky waters with her
