Cursing, the pirate threw the goblet at his first mate. "You shoulda KNOWN," he hollered. "I'll teach you far this!" His first mate scowled not bothering to catch the goblet. The golden cup hit the deck hard but the only damage it took was a cracked ruby.

"Why should I be the one to do all the research!?" His first mate retorted almost regretting it the second it left his mouth.

The captain became furious again. "Because I am the captain and YOU are part of MY crew! When I tell you to do something you do it!" He paused to take a deep breath. Pinching the bridge of his nose he continued dangerously calm. "I had ta make sure we get on this god forsaken island without troubles but what's it matter now cause ya gone and screwed us all?"

The first mate huffed. "Tisnt my fault, twas Rum Drunk Sammy, he sent me down to the Broken Barrel."

The captain stood up so fast he knocked his chair over. "Talk back to me like that again I'll make sure yer livin' a life worse than Sammy. Until you officially get tha vote for quarter master yar still a first mate, I still hold absolute power! Whaddya goin to that a rundown bar for anyway? Not even Whale Eye Buford would be caught dead in there!" Buford, a deck swab, would drink anything he could get his hands on but even he drew the line at the Broken Barrel. Redirecting his attention to his office door the captain saw it shift before it creaked.

"Get in here ya dirty spyin dog!" There was a moment of silence before the wooden door slowly opened to reveal the shaggy red haired boatswain. "Forgive me cap'n," He slightly dipped his head as a bow of respect.

The captain relaxed and stood straight. "Aye, what is it Curly?"

"The Navy caught up to the ship. Should I prepare the ship for sailing?" He lazily glanced to the first mate and then to the goblet on the floor.

"Aye, set sail immediately. I'll be out in a moment," Without a word Curly left closing the door behind him.

"You should prepare for sailing too Hadwin." The captain said dryly briskly brushing by his first mate and out the door slamming it.

"Someone get me my telescope!" The captain called marching his way to the front deck. A random crew member dropped the telescope in the captain's hands. Adjusting it the captain focused on a menacing naval ship emerge from the fog.

"Curly for god's sake get old Martha moving! And somebody find me Hadwin!"

Hadwin boredly strode up the steps to the top deck with his hands in his coat pockets. He found the captain behind the wheel intently steering the ship between the craggy rocks.

"You called?" The captain huff a sound that would be equivalent to the word 'duh'.

"What did ya do with the treasure?" The captain took a hard right between two rocks and sailed through a cave that could just barely fit the ship. With the fog becoming thicker his vision was becoming more and more limited as they trailed on.

"I put it below deck with the rest of tha booty,"

"YA WHAT?!" The captain hollered startling everyone in ear shot. He snagged a crew member from his work and told him to go retrieve the freshly caught treasure. "Why on mother's green earth would ya do that!?" the rest of the crew nervously flitted about at the captains sudden anger.

"Treasures' treasure cap'nt,"

"You idiot! It's cursed! Ya told me that yarself!"

"Well we could always check with the Witch Berta to see what she can do,"

The captain heaved a heavy sigh, "I swear HadwinI should throw you and tha treasure off this boat where we stand,"
