Here's my latest cover. Whew...I must have laid this out like four times, and it wasn't working for me. With a little more cropping I finally got the image the way I wanted. There are loads of special effects in it too.
The water has a color adjustment, and a touch of vibrancy added to get the sparkle effect. As for the fire, a little playing with the flames, I added it to the picture using a hard light option. The clouds have stars layered on top, and then a blue and violet highlight blended over them.
The background is a sparkly black paper that I've erased Wren image from, leaving her black shirt to match the background. The final touches included a sand layer, an inky white border and a title outlined in blue.
