"When I think of me, I think of a tree, but, that tree has no branches or leaves. Leaving it at just a tall pole or stick. I say that because, I don't know anyone in my family. So there my 'tree' stands, empty, bare, dead.. not even a tree if you ask me, just a sad, unwanted tree who's family abandoned him for his bare and ugly looks, so there he stands, just a stick of large wood in the ground. The tree doesn't have any friends either. The children who play in the park pass by him and climb on the trees with branches, leaves, fruit, and shade. four things he could not provide. People in the park didn't give up on him, stuck in belief that one day he would be beautiful, and would blossom better than all the other trees, grow the sweetest of fruits, shade one hundred people on the hottest day.

And so we wait.

1 year: nothing

2 years: nothing

3 years: nothing

4 years: something..

It was a day like any other, a cold and damp day of another December, Christmas was in two weeks. No kids were in the park, it was to cold to be.

And there the tree sat, bare as always, although winter was always his favorite time of the year.

The trees still had branches, but where bare of their leaves, making the tree feel normal to be bare, but soon, winter would be gone, and the leaves would grow back, leaving him the only tree there, completely bare.

It was colder than usual today though, colder then it usually would be in Los Angeles.

And across the street was a small, but cozy little cafe. Though it was always packed.

The tree watched as people would walk out of the cafe, with family, friends, and lovers, laughing and smiling, every person who went in there who was glum or down, would come out happy, surrounded by friends or family that weren't even with them when he first walked in.

The shop was called,

'The Cozy Cat's Cafe'

And from the looks of it, it really was cozy. The tree could look through the windows and see lots of chairs, couches, tables, rugs, a warm fireplace, and a tv with sports playing most of the time, and in the far back of the room was a small stage, that people who were brace enough to risk it could put themselves on it for free, and perform for the cafe. Those where some of the only times the tree would see someone come out sad or crying, after being booed off the stage and out the building.

The owner of the coffee shop was a old man, who had retired around the time the tree was planted, passing the company business to his son, a young adult who went by the name of James (if that's your name... then..uhh, hi James)

He was a kind man, though he was the only one who worked in the cafe, that's right, there where no other employees. And that's what brought people to his family cafe, he was a swift worker who loved his job, he's told people that if he didn't need money to pay bills for the place, he would of made everything free.

He doesn't have a girlfriend or kids yet, and being alone like the ugly tree, he'd do everything himself, cooking, drink making, baking, cleaning, and everything in between.

People say they would pay $20.00 for a coffee there, but he only charges $2.28 and when having a discount sale it's $1.00. As for all the other things, they are extremely cheap, the most cheapest thing there is the scones which are
.25 each. The most expensive thing there is the triple chocolatey chip, which was $5.25, being the most expensive thing there.
