Kate and Harry
I must have died and went to heaven cause there’s an angel standing in front of me right now. I missed his dark curls and how they fell above his captivating, green eyes. I loved the way he’d get all cheeky and smirk when I got sarcastic. I missed him a lot. I watched his mouth move as he spoke—Wait. Spoke?
“I—I’m sorry, what was that?” I frowned.
Harry raised an eyebrow. We stood in the middle of the airport. He’d just arrived for vacation here in Cheshire. He’d told me how Louis went with Eleanor to Doncaster, Niall, to Ireland, Liam, to Wolverhampton with Danielle and Zayn, to Bradford. They’d just finished their tour and Paul decided it would do them good to visit their families and friends back home.
“I said I missed you too Kate.” He smirked.
“But I didn’t—Dammit. I did it again didn’t I.” I muttered. See, that’s what I do. When I’m to in depth in my thoughts, I tend to murmur what goes on in my mind. I wonder how mush of it he’s heard. I mean, we were only friends after all. I didn’t want to scare him off.
“Yeah, you did.” He smiled, wrapping his arms around me. I took a whiff of his vanilla scent. I felt safe in his arms. The past year wasn’t the best, but it was fun spending time with Gemma the others.
“So where should we go first?” I smiled as we walked out the glass doors, now stepping onto the sidewalk.
“I plan to take my girlfriend out it you don’t mind.”
I stopped dead in my tracks. My chest tightened, but I tried not to think about it. “Girlfriend?” My tone was uneven. Have you ever imagined all your hopes at their prime and suddenly have them ripped away from you like they were never yours to begin with? Well, that’s how I feel right now.
“Yeah, I left her here when I joined X Factor. Don’t you remember?” he eyed me, still smirking.
“Um…y-yeah.” I said reluctantly. “She was—was…um…I think—”
“If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be visiting her. I’ll catch you sometime tomorrow yeah?” He hugged me again, but sped off down the sidewalk, carrying his duffel bag before I could say good-bye.
“Y-Yeah…” I said, practically whispering.
“Will you please tell me what’s wrong?” Parminder leaned against the frame of the doorway to my room. She came over earlier this morning to return the book she’d borrowed from me last week. She’d always been a good friend, so she knew not to leave.
“Nothing.” I muttered bitterly. I lay motionless on my bed, staring at the ceiling. My dark, red hair was spread out, as if trying to reach all sides of my pillow.
“I thought you wanted to take Harry around today.”
“Change of plans. He’s got a girlfriend.” I sat up, trying to hold in all the tears.
“What? But isn’t he single? I thought for sure he was into you.” Parminder sat beside me, rubbing my back as if I was a little girl again.
“Well, he’s been with her since before X Factor. I guess he wanted her to be a secret.” I muted.
“Natalie and Lucy were betting you and Hazza would defs end up together for sure. I guess they owe Ella twenty pounds now.” She snickered, but stopped. “Sorry. Not helping.”
“It’ fine.” I tried to smile.
“Well, I’ll catch you later. Movie night at Natalie’s okay?”
