My heart was racing, "Aurora", who was calling my name? "Aurora please", I walked slowly to the voice. There were three of them. All dark shadows except for their eyes all glowing different colors. Red, Gray and Blue. "Aurora! Finally, you find the place." Said the blue-eyed person. "Who are you exactly?" I asked my voice shaking. "We are your friends, that's all we can say for now. You need to hurry though. The darkness, it knows you are coming." Said the red eyed person. "The darkness, what the hell is going on!" I screamed taking a step back from them all. "In time, you will understand. But for now, you need to wake up, you are getting closer," said the gray eyed voice. "What? I'm scared, no one is answering my questions." Gray eyed person laughed, "you would be crazy if you weren't scared. All your questions will be answered soon, just keep the stone close to you. We will find you. But for now, you need to wake up my dear." The gray eyes got closer till I felt a touch and jolted awake.
Another crazy dream, I sat up in my chair and looked around. Still driving and still raining seems about right. I looked down at my necklace, they said to keep the stone close how did they know I had it? It was given to me by my grandmother, she passed about a year ago and this was all I had left of her. When I wore this necklace, I knew I was never alone and she would always be there with me. "Well hello sleeping beauty" said my mom rubbing my leg. She was a cheerful woman, we could be twins on how we look but personality wise not so much. We both share the brown curly hair and deep blue eyes, but her personality is all extrovert and excited about life and mine was completely the opposite but having a little bit of cheerful in my life was always nice. "How much longer do we have?" "We should be there in a few minutes actually. Oh, I'm so excited to be back home!" she said all cheerful still. Weird how the dream was accurate about this too, all the dreams had been right about something. I recalled a dream I had the night my grandma passed, I was in my bed sleeping and I was awoken by the same people but I didn't see their eyes just their voices. "Tonight, is a sad night but also a great night, a member leaves but another comes." Said a female voice. I couldn't move or even open my eyes to look at them, I was in like some sort of sleep paralysis. "We welcome you, Aurora Jones. We can't wait to meet you in person in the upcoming year. We are also sorry for the loss of your grandma." Said a male voice I knew that. But what did they mean the passing of my grandma, she was perfectly fine. "But with her passing comes you, and we couldn't be more thankful for that. You are our missing piece" came another female voice. Then I woke up, shaking and sweating. I ran into my mom's room and told her the dream, she just said it was a nightmare but I knew it wasn't. I had her call the home my grandma was at and sure enough she died in her sleep just a few minutes ago. Since then the dreams have gotten more intense and weird. "Hey mom, do you think dreams are right, or that they can come true." I asked her recalling all the weird dreams I have told her. She took a moment to reply, which made me think did she even hear me ask the question. I was about to ask her again until I heard her speak "Yes." She said, but this time there was no cheerfulness in her voice it was cold. This spooked me, she was never serious I wonder why she answered like that. But her reply made me scared to even ask so I just looked out my window and enjoyed the sound of the rain hitting the car still remembering the dream.
The rest of the ride was silent, besides the rain tapping on the car. "Look dear we are here. Welcome to Crystal Stone." She said breaking the silence, the cheer back in her voice. Many years ago, before my parents met my mom lived in Crystal Stone with her mom (my grandma). She was very involved with her town, she would always help the fishers in harbor when they got fish. She was very much into the school system, tutoring and helping as much as she could. But that all changed when my dad got into the picture, after they met she kept more to herself. No one really knows why or what happened, mom never told me either another secret from me. Even though my mom was a cheerful women and loved helping people I always knew there was something wrong with her, she was hiding something she didn't want anyone to know or to see. But after my mom and dad got married they left Crystal Stone and my grandma behind and moved to the other side of Maine. But with this I got a pen pale, my grandma. When I was about eight my class we started writing to people, to help penmanship and writing skills. I heard so much about my grandma from my mom that I wanted to finally get to know her, and with that sparked a 18 year pen pale with my grandma up until her last letter and her necklace. But now I am finally seeing Crystal Stone for the first time and I have been waiting for this moment for years. It was just like how grand would describe it, tall trees everywhere you look and people walking up and down the sidewalks and going into tiny shops. It was like a hallmark movie scene, so fully of life and happiness. "Oh, what great memories I had here!" my mom said squealing in her seat. I laughed at her and she hit me back, we talked to rest of the ride about what shops we were going to go to first.
