Book Two: Returning

Chapter Two

Fiona Pov

"What happened?" I asked as Hayley stopped running her hand through Tara's hair.

She looked like she had been crying recently, her eyes were red. She wiped a tear with her hand and took a deep breath.

"I need you to take Hope in," she said, her voice shaking. "The witches at New Orleans want to kill her in orders of Klaus' mother. I don't want her anywhere near them, so I ask of you...will you please take her in?"

Fiona was shocked at Hayley's words but managed to nod. "Of course I would, you would do the same for me. But why is Hope being targeted?"

Hayley sighed, seeming much older that she actually is. "The witches in New Orleans think she's an abomination for being Klaus' daughter."

"Oh." I didn't know what to say.

An awkward silence filled the air. Hayley checked her phone. "I have to go before they notice I'm gone."

"Ok."

She hugged me. "Bye, Fiona."

"Bye Hayley."

She was gone.
