hi sorry for never writing and for abandoning my last story because writing is more of a chore than a
hobby . in the meantime , i wrote this ! I actually started a month-ish ago, maybe 2 at this point (so you may see a change shift in writing bcos i don't wanna rewrite it), but yeah ...... my HC for selectively mute sherwin. remember that this is based off of my own experiences having selective mutism . (not that i was outed in front of my same gender crush by my heart)

.

Sherwin never would've thought in a thousand years that he would find himself in such a situation. If his own heart wasn't in front of the most popular boy in school, he would've had a real, actual cardiac arrest. He felt like he was going to die, or vomit. Or both.

The scrawny boy first feels the adrenaline rush through his body, then his stomach churns in the most god awful way, then comes the head spins. A million and one eyes are locked on the two boys, and he felt like he was going to pass out. He's not sure which is more embarrassing: Outed in front of your crush in front of the whole school, or the same thing, but passed out.

Sherwin doesn't know whether to speak up, or to throw up, but latter seems more ideal, because when he opened his mouth to say something-- Anything, it was all mute.

Suddenly, all became too overwhelming for the boy. Sherwin started to panic, his face turned crimson, and was looking at everything and everyone else aside the boy who was staring right at him-- Jonathan. Tremors overtook his body, so he needed to get out of there-- And fast, but he seemed to be frozen in time, and he was the only one stuck.

What snapped him out of that almost dissociative-like moment was Jonathan's eyes widening in realization why there's a heart grabbing onto his stubby finger, as the boy in front of him was grabbing onto his own hearts arm. It seemed like the poor organ was just about to snap.

Sherwin scrunched his face as if he were gonna burst out in tears, made a stance to hold himself in place, and pulled with all of his weak might to pull the heart away, but the heart thought otherwise, and was hanging onto Jonathan for dear life as a small cracked emerged, then a bigger one, and a bigger one,

until it was two.

Jonathan quickly held out his hands to grab half of the broken vessel, as Sherwin decided to take the other half, and shamefully flee out of the school. Jonathan felt something drop in his stomach. He took a look at his peers around him, and felt a little shame himself. Jonathan stands up, facing the door, and takes a huff. Murmurs of insults and comments that hurt Jon-- even if they were all directed towards the outed red-head --could be heard, and Jonathan wasn't going to take any of it. As much as he wanted to lash out something like "What if you were in that situation?" or "What the hells' wrong with you?" it seemed smarter to go and see the boy-- Alone, and try to talk things out.

Jonathan cupped the heart in his right hand, and held it close to his stomach. He takes another huff, and pushes the doors open, letting a mix of
cool, and warm colours shine through the sepia-like tones of the school, hitting the walls and the floor. He took his time slowly walking out, as the doors shut behind him, making a large clicking noise.

Soft sniffles emitted from the embarrassed boy, as he wiped his red, raw cheeks from rubbing the tears that slid down from the pools in his eyes. He felt a lump-- No, a spiky lump --whenever he tried to swallow. Shame and the feeling of wanting to be buried 99 feet into the ground was the worst feeling in the world, and Sherwin was even beginning to think of was to convince his mother to homeschool him. No way is he going to be able to show his face tomorrow. No way in hell.

He closed the other half of his heart in his hands, and leaned back into the tree, his head pounding with an unbearable headache from the combination of crying, and stress.

He turned his head as his vision cleared up from the hot tears in his eyes, and when his mind processed who it was, he would have just rather dropped dead. z
