- Eva's POV -
WE rushed into the award room just in time for a few tight spaces in the front. We huddled quietly trying to fit in. The other teams stared at us. The music stopped playing at the atmosphere turned around in an 180 degrees spin. It was tense. Something Me or Eli hadn't experienced before. But I didn't care. I just wanted to see the awards.
"OK, solo category!" The announcer expressed, "5th place, Gemini, 4th Place is Red".
The other children got up and got handed their awards, it was almost time for first place!
"3rd place is My place is blue, 2nd place is Break me and in First place is..." The announcer said. The room grew quiet and at that moment you of heard a pin drop.
"Baby Mine!!" The announcer yelled. We all erupted in cheers. Chloe had won!! I clapped along with the adults. I heard Christi say That'll teach Abby to underestimate my child and not give her as much time as Maddie. I'm pretty sure Melissa heard that because she immediately turned to face Christi. She clapped more slowly now. Chloe came to the front, her smile showing from ear to ear.
"What's your dance company?" The announcer asked in general interest.
"Abby Lee Dance Company!" Chloe yelled in the mic.
She trotted back to sit on the floor, and I whispered, Well done to her.
"Now for duets and trios. 5th place is turn me down, 4th Place is walk away, 3rd is wait, 2nd is Down under," The announcer continued.
Abby glared at me and Eli. We stared across at Chloe, Paige, Brooke, Nia and Kendall. Who were all expectantly looking at the judge. Maddie was staring at us from her seat as if she thought we weren't gonna win but Mackenzie was trying hard not to fall asleep.
"And first place is... oh la la!" The announcer announced. Me and Ama both yelped with surprise and relief. We got up and got our awards.
"What's your company girls?" The announcer asked us.
"The ALDC!" We practically screamed into the microphone.
"The ALDC is on a winning streak today" The announcer chuckled. Abby laughed to herself.
"It's time for group dances.. 3rd place is Me and my Bullies. 2nd place is My Night gown and 1st place is Winner!" The announcer yelled.
The whole team couldn't wait to get out of the hall and escape from Abby.
Abby said nothing when we went to collect our stuff. I quickly changed into my regular clothes and sprayed on deodorant. On the way to the bus i ate my snack bar. On the bus, the mums decided to speak up.
"Abby, I hope your not mad that the group didn't place.." Holly said getting straight to the point.
"Say that when you decide to choreograph a whole group dance," Abby snaps calmly.
For the whose journey we sat in silence, and only did awkward side way glances. I could see Nia red with embarrassment, she was likely to get the worst treatment from what i heard.
