“Dear! Hurry up. You’re gonna be late for your flight!” Mom shouted.
Apparantely, I was packing my things up and it was really a mess. It wasn’t my fault if Mom asked me to have dinner with her last night which caused me to hurry like this.
I zipped my bag and went to my closet to check if I left something important, roaming around the room.
I hurriedly went downstairs with all my luggages behind me which was so much heavy than carrying a bag of bricks on my back.
I saw Mom waiting for me, tapping her foot on the ground with an annoyed face. But it didn’t really mind me because it was her fault why I’m rushing. When she was me, her face turned calm.
I saw my dog, laying on the couch, looking sad. I frowned at the sight of her then went to my pet and pat her head.
“I’ll miss you bestfriend.” She began licking my hand. I said my last goodbye to my bestfriend by kissing her head and ruffling her fur. “I’ll see you soon.”
I exited the house and saw Mom putting my luggages on the trunk. I was going to her to help but it looks like she doesn’t because she closed the trunk. I went inside first then she went next. I sighed heavily, Goodbye Maine.
I flashed back memories in my head. I remembered those days that I was partying with my friends and YOLO-ing. Now, I have to go to California because my Dad wants me to because it would be better.
I put my shades on and turned my iPod on. Then I heard Mom entered in the car and started the engine. I didn’t bother to look at her, I just looked at the skies and remembering all the memories here in Maine.
Mom and Dad divorced last year ago because of things that they never have spoken to me and I didn’t even mind to ask why. I mean why would I do that? I always wanted them to split off because it was for the better. Every night they start shouting about stupid things and I even tried everything to make them shut up but it worsens. Dad doesn’t have a secret affair nor Mom. I guess love just doesn’t last long.
“Skylar, I know that you’re pissed because you’re forced to go to California but just remember that it’s the best for you. Maybe you’ll meet new friends there and new experience.” Mom said, smiling. I only sighed without saying anything then turned my head to window. She started the car and went driving.
I know that she’s trying to enlighten me but it didn’t work. I’m slightly pissed because she just agreed with my Dad in just a snap. I mean seriously? My life here in Maine is perfect. Popular, rich and smart? And now, I have to work hard to get fame stick beside me again.
We arrived at the airport past eleven and my flight was on one o’clock. Mom wasn’t going with me, she just want to drop me off and say goodbye.
“See you in Thanksgiving, ok?” She said and she hugged me very tight that I might choke but I also hugged her tight. Even if I’m pissed with my parents, I still loved them. They were the reason why I was here.
“I’ll miss you Mom.” I kissed her cheek and she also kissed mine, “I’ll miss you too.”
We chatted for a little then we said our final goodbyes. It was one o’clock already and the plane was ready. Half an hour had past and the plane was on board.
5 hours later
I woke up from the voice of the captain. He said that the plane was going to land after thirty minutes. I ate some snacks because my breath taste like death.
