"What's your alias?"
"What's an 'alias?'"
"That's your fake name! Ya know, your 'stage name.'"
"Why do we need aliases?"
"To keep our identities secret! Like secret agents!"
"Well, I don't want one. It sounds lame."
"You're lame! Cla-"
She puts her hands over the other girl's mouth.
"B-Baka! You can't say my real name!"
"That's exactly what I have been telling you! I already know my alias so tell us yours!"
"Fine, how about...Kyoko! Just like from Skip Beat!"
"Okay, but you can't be the exact same person. Anyways, how about your appearance? Hair color, eyes, etc.?"
"I am Kyoko and I have golden eyes and dark hair!"
"Very well, I am Kozakura Kaori and I have light yellow eyes and black hair."
"Why don't you use the alias you already have?"
"Who...?"
"Don't act dumb! Your alias on this site! Aiko."
"Pssshhh...that's not an alias..."
"Sure, Kris-"
Aiko interrupts, "-Anyways, let's get to the story. We've wasted time with this whole discussion. We're sorry, reader. We'll make it up to you, somehow."
"Let's get on with it!" Kyoko yells rudely.
Now that everything is out of the way, let's begin. Aiko holds a large and seemingly old book in her lap and turns the pages. She stops at a page with a picture of herself and Kyoko. The two are sitting together enjoying different things. Kyoko is stuffing her face with a slice of cake and Aiko is taking a sip of some herbal tea.
Here are our two 'heroes.' Well, except for Kyoko, she is an anti-hero which is the villain you root for.
It all started during a discussion much like our discussion earlier...
WAIT! I actually think you call this 'girl talk' otaku edition. Now we can start!
"...Is that cake good?" Aiko asks after taking a sip of her tea.
Kyoko continues to munch on her cake as if she didn't even know Aiko was there, or anyone for that matter.
"You're paying for this snack, and this month's rent," Aiko says, knowing that she'll definitely answer.
Kyoko immediately puts down her fork and looks up, "You're kidding! I cannot pay for rent this month! I am not freaking Tamaki Suoh!" She continues her babbling and Aiko chuckles.
"I finally got you to answer me," she continues, "If you keep stuffing your face like that you'll get as fat as a cow." No offense to cows or anything.
"...Whatever, Idiot," Now we know who the 'hmph!' is.
"Anyways, I want to go shopping."
"For clothes?"
"No."
"Furniture? Utensils? Ah, you want some manga or figurines, right?" Kyoko rolls her eyes, but like every tsundere she was actually really excited.
"Yeah, but I want to find something new and different!" By the way, we're currently in America. Currently.
"Okay, but this is just for you." Ha, yeah right. You always say that but then when we get there you're going to be drooling nyan cats.
After the two heroes finish their snack they head to their favorite place. (In real life that is)
"Manga!"
"Figurines!"
"Otaku T-shirts!"
"Henta-!" Kyoko's face turns as red as Shiriyuki's hair.
"I knew it, you perv!" Aiko teases Kyoko just like how it was everyday since 4th grade. Except, now they are grown adults! Mature! Well, one of us is.
"Relax! I was kidding," for your information, she was actually kidding. Or was she?
"Haha! Sure!" Aiko pranced around the store with her OBFE (Otaku Bestie Forever, of course).
Time stood still for those two, but time actually kept going. Who knows how much time they spend in that store.
At last, they find what they wanted...and more. And that more was beyond what they expected. The two agreed that they had what they wanted and they walked up to the cashier. Kyoko was in front of Aiko as they were walking through the aisles to the front.
Then Aiko spotted an odd book lying on the floor. She stopped and knelt down to discover that the book was plain and there was no cover. It wasn't like a normal book. It felt like manga but it didn't have anything on it except for a single link to some website on it.
Curious, Aiko studied it. She began to zone out until she was brought back to reality by Kyoko. Kyoko had stood very close to her and it startled her.
"Helloooo...? Aiko, are you okay? I turned around and say you looking at some random book. Then I saw you put your hand to your face. You got a pimple or something?"
"N-No, not at all. I am fine. I think we should get this book too just in case..." She had this strange and unexplainable feeling that she should get this book.
"Are you sure?" Kyoko was just as curious as Aiko. She was thinking of every possible parallel in an anime.
"No way! Is that a death note?" She went beside Aiko to study the book further.
"No, I don't think so. It's more like a manga and it isn't a notebook. And if it was a death note wouldn't we see a shinigami or something?"
"True, but we should get it! Just in case it is a death note. Gasp! Would if we meet L? But let's hope neither of us end up like Light."
Aiko says in a high-pitched voice, "I can't imagine a world without Light!"
"That would be pretty dark." They both start laughing.
After they settle down they both walk up to the counter and put their items on the counter.
While setting the items down, Aiko is compelled to not place the strange book with the other items. The cashier doesn't seem to notice or even glance at the book. It's like the book is invisible to her.
They both leave the store with the book and their stuff. Then something strange happens...
