"Uuuggghhhh" Emma said as she looked into the mirror. She was getting ready for school but couldn't get her hair to stay up. She was a very pretty girl, so anything she did couldn't possibly look bad. She had long, thick, dark brown hair that complimented her perfectly with her olive skin tone and icy blue eyes. Everything else looked great. She had black skinny jeans on with a light pink sweater and brown uggs on. The only thing left to do was trying to get her hair to stay up in a messy bun since her aunt doesn't like Emma to "outshine" her.
She wasn't allowed makeup either, her aunt says that Emma doesn't need makeup because she "will never be as beautiful as her aunt Teresa. So why try?" 'Bullshit' Emma would always think, but could never say that because of her uncle. Her uncle Robert always scared Emma, ever since her aunt and uncle took her in when her parents died. Emma was only four, so her uncle couldn't do much but as she got older her uncle began to discipline her by hitting and slapping. Lucky for Emma that only happens when he is home from his business trips.
"EMMA!" She heard from downstairs. "GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE BEFORE YOUR LATE FOR SCHOOL!" At the sound of that, Emma gave up and put her hair in a high ponytail and ran down the stairs. Before she left, her aunt turned to her and said "Be home right after school today, uncle Robert is going away and I need you to cook dinner while I go get a manicure." "Okay." Emma said, then she left for school.
