"Paul? What is this?" I asked, my hands covering my mouth. I was smiling ear to ear as he pulled out a ring box from his pocket. Everyone in the restaurant watched in anticipation.
"Anna O'Connor, I am in love with you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, for forever. You know I've never been very good with words," I laughed with tears rolling down my cheeks, "will you marry me?" He asked, and I opened my mouth to speak, but I couldn't.
I shook my head vigorously, and he slipped the beautiful ring onto my finger. He stood up and turned to the audience watching us from their tables.
"She said yes!" He shouted, even though everyone had already watched the scene unfold before their eyes. Everyone began to clap and I looked at the ring.
I could see the shine through my blurred vision, and I got up and hugged Paul, he chuckled and I could see that his hands were shaking. He must have been nervous before asking me. I knew in that moment that Paul and I would be together forever.
