"Father..." a tired and weak voice called from across the throne room, barely audible in the vast silence of the expanse.
Everyone was somewhere else, preparing and organising the upcoming event, which was princess Isabelle's 17th birthday.
"I'm over here sweetheart, what's wrong?" The king's voice was tinted with worry, seeing his daughter walking slowly down the steps of the throne room, her stance frigid and her breaths shallow.
"Father, I can't breathe." Her fragile voice said, coming closer and closer to where her father is seated, where he was reading over the things his kingdom requests and needs.
The king suddenly stood up, making the plush golden throne room seem like nothing compared to his glorious hight and brooding stance.
He ran down the steps of the throne and captured his fallen and ill daughter as her steps faltered and she almost fell face first onto the polished marble floor.
In his devastated state of fear for the possibility of losing his daughter, the king hadn't noticed his youngest daughter, Aricia, running up to them and trying to figure out why her father was on his knees trying to support his high fevered daughter.
"Isabella! What has happened to you? GUARDS! Get the doctor here now!" The kings urgent voice sent the whole palace rumbling.
The king then proceeded to pick his daughter up and hurriedly taken her to her room, where the doctor was already waiting. The doctor then went over to the princess that laid on the bed, checking her temperature, which was ten folds higher than average.
"My king, you must stay away, we do not know if the illness is contagious or not." The doctor said sight after he entered the room, he had asked King Armanious to step away and watch from a safe distance in the huge room of the princess.
"Your highness, this disease is nothing that anyone had seen before, she needs medical attention as soon as possible, otherwise I fear her life might return to the creator." The doctor said in his most apologetic voice, trying to keep calm and not make things worse for the king.
"Dad, why is Belle gray like that? Is there something wrong with her?" Aricia asked her father in her innocent 5 year old voice.
The king was shocked to see his young one standing beside him, reaching up and holding onto his dress pants. "Ary, my dearest daughter, your sister will be alright, she just ate blueberries and got a bit silly with them, can you go get your mum and brother for me please?" Armonious softly told his daughter, kneeling down to her level and kissed her forehead.
His heart twisted and wrenched in its spot, his eyes watering and his mind telling him to seek revenge. He had already figured that the illness of his daughter was caused by the welting snow blizzards and the cold that was created by the winter Duke. Duke Azorion of Winters Cove was not doing his job properly, and though it was winter season, that old haggard was putting on storms that could kill dozens of citizens in one day. And it was unacceptable.
The king stormed out of his daughters room, enraged, and headed to his quarters, where he had requested a meeting with all of the leaders. Wanting to find out what the bastard was up to, he had not so patience waited for the men to get to the meeting hall.
* Five hours later.*
In a matter of hours, all he leaders of the five kingdoms were gathered in the great hall, too fearful of rejecting the highest ranked leader of them all, except for one bastard, who was the king of Winters Cove who decided it was fine to reject the demand of an alpha king.
"Where is that wretched bastard!" Bellowed king Armanious, thinking of the cowardice of the winter king, too scared to face his king after what he had done to the king's daughter. "Does anyone have a cure for the illness of my daughter!" He demanded the leaders, pleading god in his heart that someone might have a cure.
"I am deeply sorry my king, but I dare say that this is a new disease that we do not know the cure to, but maybe the leader of Spring could her minimise the risk of her highness losing her life." Spoke the duke of Autumn, George Romelious.
Armanious' eyes narrowed onto Edwards figure, searching for a confirmation that there truely is a cure.
"I'm sorry your grace, but I fear I won't be able to help." Edward said in such a disrespectful manner, earning a disapproving look from the Duke of Summer.
"I see, and you? Brice, do you have a cure or are you simply going to say you will not help me?" Armanious asked in a deadly calm voice. Deciding it was worthless questioning them, knowing that the Dukes have planned to overthrow him.
"I-I do not know how to cure her your royalness, please forgive me." Brice lowered his eyes in shame. King Armanious could clrearly see the defeat in the eyes of Brice, knowing that he was being controlled by the other men, otherwise he would have happily obliged and helped the dying princess.
The king was enraged, furious, and killed from the inside. He was not ready to loose his daughter, she had just came to this world! This unfair and cruel world.
" GUARDS! take those filthy, good for nothing mongrels away from me, and make sure to lock them in the deepest, darkest dungeons, and most filled with filthy rats like them." Armanious barked orders, not wanting to give a shred if mercy to the dogs in front of him, hell, even dogs are loyal. He decided not big give them mercy, just like they didn't want to have mercy on his daughter.
" by tomorrow evening, expect your lands to be taken from you rats, I shall put borders on my kingdom, which is the whole country, and if any of your followers cross those borders, they shall be shot and killed at sight, and be hurried on their spot." The king barked with malice, disgusted with the behaviours of his used-to-be left hand men.
The guards had seized the arms of the traitors and took them out of the great hall. Right after the guards were out of sight, another young guard came running to the king, his breath half way gone.
" my king! We are loosing the princess, please, you have to hurry!" The guard wheezed, desperate to get the king to the chambers of the princess.
Without hesitating, the king bolted out of the great hall and ran up the stairs to his daughter's room, tripping and falling as tears blurred his vision.
"Isabelle!" He had screamed and wailed, unable to imagine like without his beloved daughter.
"Isabelle!" He screamed as he entered the room, breaking down as he saw his wife standing beside his dying daughter, holding her semi- lifeless hands. "Isabelle please!" The king plead and begged for his daughter to open her eyes, to say something, anything.
"ᴵ- ᴵ ᴸᴼᵛᴱ ᵞᴼᵁ ᴬᴸᴸ, ᴾᴸᴱᴬˢᴱ ᶠᴼᴿᴳᴵᵛᴱ ᴹᴱ ᴵᶠ ᴵ ᴴᴬᴰ ᴰᴼᴺᴱ ᴬᴺᵞ ᵂᴿᴼᴺᴳ, ᴬᴺᴰ ᴰᴼ ᴺᴼᵀ ᶜᴿᵞ ᴼᵛᴱᴿ ᴹᵞ ᴰᴱᵟᵀᴴ" her voice was inaudible, too soft and wheezed to be understood, but it was heard by the whole family that was surrounding the dying princess.
Even her older brother heard her last words as he entered the room in a hurry. They all stood next to her in a rush, and you could see the peace and gratefulness Isabelle had as she stared at every member of their family.
Then, with her her eyes slowly closing, and her face formed into a soft smile, Princess Isabelle had surrendered to death and had went to the other world.
Everyone started wailing and mourning the loss of their beloved sister and daughter, and Aricia slowly started to register in her innocent mind, that Isabelle is truely gone and could never return, and so she joined her family with crying that could be heard over the whole country.
