"What took you so long you little brat, I said I wanted you home by three thirty." This is the first thing I hear as I walk through the door. My dad. "There was traffic and the bus had a flat tyre." I wasn't even that late it was four. ''Get to your room now or I'll shoot you.'' I could tell he was bluffing. ''Come on then shoot me.'' He pulled out a gun and I could tell it was loaded. I sprinted up the stairs, into my room then locked myself in. My dad has a drinking problem so he gets aggravated easily. My room was half painted light green, I had kept it like that because my mum was painting it and then she died, so I kept it unfinished. My bed was so soft it felt like I was floating on a cloud, I rolled over to pull out one of the drawers on the bottom of the bed. The box I pulled out was a dark red box, I had painted over it because it looked better than a shoe on the box. It had photos of when I was a little kid and we were a whole family, I pulled the one out that was the last picture of my mum, it was the night she died.

I woke up to the sound of sirens. I looked at the clock it was two in the morning, then I looked out the window and there on the side of the road outside the house there was the police and an ambulance. I jumped out of bed and ran to my door it was locked, I had been locked in. I sat on my bed looking out the window, tears rolling down my face. I heard the lock on my door click, and then the door opened and my dad walked in, it was five in the morning. ''Daddy what happened?'' I looked at him with my bright green eyes. ''Your mum is sick she's gone to the hospital.'' ''Will she be alright?'' ''I don't know, sweetie, I don't know.''

I snapped back to reality. The nightmare that I lived in, the terrible place called life. I sat there staring at the picture as the tears rolled down my face. I missed her so much, I know she couldn't stop the heart attack from occurring, I know she didn't want to leave but she had no choice, no say. I wiped the tears away put the photo back in the box and went downstairs. I needed to make amends with dad, he's the only family I have left.
I found my dad in the living room as usual. ''Dad can we talk?'' No reply ''DAD!'' He stood up. ''I don't want to talk.'' ''But I want to.'' ''If you can't respect that I don't want to talk to you will have to die.'' ''Dad don't be silly.'' I looked into his eyes he was dead serious. I looked at his right hand it had his gun in it. ''Dad what are you doing?'' My voice cracked with fear that he might actually do it. ''Don't make me do it Alex.'' ''I'm not making you do anything, just put the gun down.'' Bang. I felt a stinging in my chest, I looked down blood was pouring out of my chest. I collapsed, and everything went black.
The thought going through his mind was what have I done, I have killed the only family I had left. He looked at the lifeless body on the ground, then up at the clock. It had stopped ticking it had stopped the exact time she had died.
