"Here, take this," Brick offered me a small glass of whisky.

I looked up at him.

"It helps to calm the nerves," he explained. "But sip it slowly."

I heeded his advice. The liquid flowed down my throat and filled me with
warmth.

He had brought me back to his room.

"Thanks Brick," I said, and placed the glass on the table.

He peered out from the curtains outwards. "You won't be able to get through
those people. Where are you going anyway?"

I shrugged, "I don't know. I just wanted to get away."

He sat down on the chair across me and took a mouthful out of his whisky
bottle.

"You knew...?"

He nodded, "Saw it in the news."

I sighed.

"Have you talked to him yet?"

I shook my head, "He's still in bed."

"It might be a misunderstanding."

"I don't know...I can't think straight anymore."

"That's what happen to young vibrant teenagers," he chuckled.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Problem comes when you are famous. Youngsters have problem dealing with
fame. They don't know how to watch their backs."

I looked at him.

"People are constantly out on a lookout for things, be it good or bad."

He continued, "That's what happened to me too. But of course, I was never
famous to begin with."

"What happened?"

"My fiancee caught me in bed with another girl."

I gasped.

"I was dead drunk. When I woke up, the deed was already done."

"Oh gosh..."

"I lost her. She married my best friend."

"Didn't you tried to explain things to her?"

"She disappeared the very same day. She didn't let me know about her
pregnancy. I only saw her when she came back for her grandfather's funeral.
The kid was already six."

"Oh my god..." I gasped.

"it's the biggest mistake I ever committed in my entire life."

My heart went out to him. But more to the girl.

"I can understand how she must have felt."

"But," he said. "Give him a chance to explain at least. Then decide what
you want to do. Don't disappear on him. It will kill him. Zayn's a good
guy. Playful sometimes but he's still young. Both of you are still young."

He continued, "You are a sensible kid. I'm sure you'll know what is the
right thing."

He patted my head.

"Can I stay for awhile more?"

"Stay as long as you like."

"Jo..."

"Colin?"

"You okay?" He took me into a hug.

I shrugged, "I'll survive. When did you get back? And how did you know I'm
here?"

"Brick told everybody. We were all worried sick. Especially Zayn," he added
quietly.

I looked away, "I'm not ready to talk to him yet."

"We know," he said. "That's why he's not here."

Brick had went off to grab some dinner for me. He was a nice guy and I
really felt sorry for him. But given the same situation, I probably would
have done the same as the girl.

"What do you think I should do?" I asked Colin.

"Do you still want to give yourselves a chance?"

"Huh?"

"From what I see, it was a pure act of stupidity. He was too drunk to
realise what he had done and he's probably filled with remorse."

"But how can I make sure he won't do it again... I simply don't have the
confidence..."

"I cannot answer that on his behalf. You should talk to him."

I let out a sigh. Why did my first relationship had to be this complicated?
