Pulling out a newspaper she had in her pocket, she skims through the paper and hears a noise of curiosity from behind her.
She turns around and hissed at the demon who was watching her curiously, head slanted to the side.
And she began yelling.
"What do you want? Just because I'm small and weaponless doesn't mean I can't hurt you. FIGHT ME, I DARE YOU!"
"Hey, hey... I just want to read that newspaper..."
And Alessa felt a nervous knot form in her chest as she cautiously hands the newspaper to the demon who reads through it with wide eyes and she sits nearby, embarrassed with a red face.
"Wow... the human world is boring."
"No joke―humanity has been boring since the universe began."
She shrugs her shoulders, trying to keep herself from panicking because this demon could kill her at any moment but chose not to.
"So... Are you a demon who has gained sentience or...?"
"I became a demon through cultish stuff and dark magic, you know, the usual evil stuff."
"No... I don't know."
Alessa mutters before going back to reading her newspaper, the demon peering over her shoulder curiously.
"I'm Bob."
"Alessandra. Nice to meet you."
She didn't pay much attention to Bob the demon sitting in front of her and examining her curiously.
"So... Are you a believer of the big man up there or religious in any way?"
"I'm Jewish."
Alessa replies and found herself weirded out by the fact she was having a casual conversation with a demon in Mid-Nowhere.
"I see. Any celebrations related to that?"
"We recently welcomed in the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur is coming up, but apart from that, nothing really eventful."
"Personal life?"
"I have a boyfriend... Wait, why are you getting to know me? Are you planning on blackmailing me or something?"
"No, I'm just curious."
Bob says before slinking away to do the usual demon business and Alessa shivers, sighing at how cold it was.
The next half hour Alessa had spent coming up with new inventions or thinking of ways to escape—which was impossible because there was no way out.
Sighing once more, she lays on the ground and decided to take a nap, curling into herself.
They'll recuse me if I can't figure my way. I doubt there would be a route of escape...
Alessa was in for a rude awakening as she had woken up tied down to a table. Her wrists and ankles were bound by rope and it appeared they couldn't even bother gagging her to shut her up.
