On someone's 16th birthday, they would get a new car. But on mine, I got the shocking news that I'm a wolf. Great right? Wrong. And I know what you're thinking 'OMG you're a supernatural creature.' or 'Wow you're so lucky! I wish I was like you.' And sure, at first, it's like that, with all the excitement and jazz hands. But as time goes on you realize that it's not all fun and games as it seems to be.
For one, being a wolf is not easy, you must keep it a secret from EVERYBODY, friends, family, boyfriends, girlfriends, people from school. Well, that last one is kind of easy.
Second, your animal urges. Having the urge to run into the woods and run so fast that you can't breathe. Having the urge to rip someone's head clean off when they are pissing you off.
Third, the relationships. I know every person must have that one best friend that understands them in every way. From knowing when their lying, to knowing when they're telling the truth. When they notice that their sad but hiding it behind a happy face, to when they notice that they're truly happy. Now that's a best friend.
Oh, believe me, I have one but she doesn't know that I'm a wolf.
No one does but my parents. And it's going to stay that way.
Hopefully.

"Sweetie, wake up please." My mom shouts from the kitchen.
I groan into my pillow as I slowly get up from my easeful sleep and make my way to my bland closet. Before leaving my room, I apply some mascara to make my eyes stand out. I look at my clock to find it's 8:45, I've got five minutes.
I make my way downstairs to be greeted by my mom as she struts towards the front door. her high heels letting out a scream every time she puts her foot down. My dad must have left already.
"Bye mom, see you after school."
"Okay sweetie see you later."
I walk to my garage and hop onto my beautiful motorcycle and pry that I don't die on the way to school.

Once I arrive at school I hop off my bike and walk towards one of my best friends cars.
"What's up bitch?" She says bringing me into a hug. I smile showing pearly white teeth.
"Nothing new, you?" I break the tight hug she held me in letting me breathe again.
"Same." She looks at me with a pouting face.
Kayla is my best friend, well at least one of them. We know each other like the back of our hands. You know besides the whole wolf part. Believe me, I want to tell her so bad, but I would be putting her, my family, and myself in danger. Hell, I'm putting everyone at this school in danger right now. With me at this school, they could become targets.
The Hunters are a group of 3 guys and 1 girl who have been hunting wolf shifters for years. Runs in the family. And they have recently seen my mom and dad hunting out in the forest behind my house. At first, I thought nothing of it, thinking they would forget. But I was proven wrong when they appeared at our house five weeks later, asking if we knew about any wolves that roamed our backyard. We quickly denied.
"So, have you heard about the new guy? I heard his name is Luca." Kayla says breaking me out of my thoughts. Soon we reach our lockers. I open mine and put my backpack in, not wanting to carry it throughout the day. I turn to my left to see Kayla putting her books away. Her locker is so girly it makes me want to cry. Pink is literary in every crook and cranny, leaving no part untouched.
