If I Were To Tell You

[A young boy around the age of 15 daydreaming in class staring at the cutest girl in his class. All in his mind he thinks]

If I were to tell you that I loved you, would you believe me? I know it sounds stupid. I know its cheesy but it is the truth! I love you so much and I want you to know that! I would give you everything I have! All my treasures, all my possessions, my entire life just to be with you and to see you happy!

[the bell rings and as soon as the boy gets up the young girl drops her book]

Jake: Hey Anna you dropped this.
Anna:Oh thanks....... and it's Jake right?
Jake: Yeah it is! You see I have been meaning to tell you something that's been on my mind for a while ....
[the bell rings a second time]
Anna: Sorry Jake I got to get to class, see you around though!
Jake: [talking to himself] Wow she remembers my name.....she actually remembers! This must be my lucky day!
[the bell rings a third time. With that everything changes to a graduation ceremony ]
Principal: And with that I give you your Senior High School class!

[We see graduation caps get thrown around and the scene changes to a college classroom]

Jake: [In his mind] She is what every guy wants in a girl, or at least what I want. If I were to just tell you I love you.... would you laugh at me and turn away? No maybe you'd tell me that you've been feeling the same way! I mean you and I have spent our whole childhood at the same schools. I saw you every day, I was blessed to be a witness of you maturing into a young lady. But why haven't you spoken to me Anna? Please just give me a chance.... I mean so what, I know you're out of my league but that doesn't mean you can't give a guy like me just one chance. Please....
Professor: Class is now dismissed everyone, have a great day!
[Jake runs to catch up with Anna]
Jake: Hey Anna, I was wondering if you would maybe like to....
[Anna is pulled aside to a larger fit guy most likely an athlete]
Athlete: Hey there little ......Jack ?.....What's up man!
Jake: Oh you know just the usual.... and it's Jake by the way.
[ Putting his head down Jake slowly walks away. We see him walk into his room and flop onto his bed. He looks at his wrist and we see his wristwatch's hands begin to move showing the time is flying by.]
Jake: [in his mind] If I were to just tell you that I love you....
[the scene is quickly changed into a chapel. We are seeing through the point of view of the groom]
Priest: If any of you has reasons why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace!
[the camera pans through the aisles stopping in the back seeing a man with his head down]
Jake: [in his mind] If I were to object would you run away from here to a place where we could be in peace? [The camera zooms in at this man and Jake raises his head as a tear runs down his cheek] If I were to tell you just once how I feel would you even bother to listen? For Christ sake I have known you longer than that man has and your going to just choose him? A man you've only known for what? Maybe only 3 1/2 year! I have known you your entire life. I know everything about you! I know who you really are..... but I guess if you're happy then so am I. I'm happy that you're happy? Damn it Anna what am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to think? Did you ever know how I felt?
[We see Jake sit on the side of his bed. Again time slowly seems to go by. Seeing note-able holidays/ celebrations go by as he is still alone. We see scenes of Anna and her husband then joined by a child . They are happy and enjoy one another]
Jake: Did she ever notice me? [Jake is seen writing on a desk in a dimly lit room] I wasted days, nights, weeks. I wasted YEARS! Over you Anna, ONLY you! [His voice seems to get faster as he writes. Seems to grow angry and impatient] Why is he better then I? It's just his looks isn't it? ....no....no you know what? I'm better. I'm a better man then he will ever be. I could've been yours Anna. I could've given you a nice life, a nice home. I dreamt of you and I having our own family. I could've been loyal. I could've been honest. I slowly have been going crazy, losing every bit of sanity. And yet I could've given you anything [gun cocks, Jake puts his pen down] and everything.... [gunshot rings loudly and the screen immediately goes to a black .] If I were to tell you how I felt maybe things wouldn't have happened this way. Forgive me Anna. [ a hand puts a rose in front a tombstone. It's Jakes and this mysterious person in black is Anna. We see her shed tears as the last words of Jake  are said]
Anna: If only I were to tell you I loved you too.......maybe I could've seen you again. I'm so sorry Jake [she kneels by the tombstone and kisses it] I'm going to miss you so much ..... just  know that, wherever you may be ..
Jake: Wherever your life takes you
Jake and Anna: [ Anna has her hand against the tombstone and slowly a figure of Jake appears with his arms around Anna ] I love you.
