**That morning was slow. I woke up to my blaring alarm, so I rolled over to hit snooze on the alarm when my brother, Victor, grabbed my wrist, "Nope. Dad told me to make sure you woke up right away today."
I groaned, "Do I have to?" I asked upset.
He nodded, "Yes you have to. You have school. Now come on, I'll make you breakfast."
I groaned as he picked me up, "But you're a terrible cook."
He laughed, "It's just some toast with jam."
Long story short he burnt the toast.
As usual school was slow and exhausting, and my father drove me home at the end of the day, but he was late. It had started raining so I was drenched when I got in the car.
I sat in my brothers room watching him play video games. He always impressed me with how good he was.
Dinner time came as fast as usual. I sat down in my chair and groaned seeing what was set out in front of me, "I hate broccoli."
"Come on Vincey, you have to eat it." My mom said sitting beside me.
We had that argument for what felt like forever. I glanced up at Victor who wasn't eating either. I groaned and said, "Why doesn't Victor have to eat."
She looked over at Victor then up at dad, "Reyen. Can you ask Vic what's wrong?"
He looked up and sighed, "Victor, are you okay?"
Mom then turned to me and tried to make me eat again but I was curious as to what Victor was so upset about. He sighed and shook his head, "It- it's nothing, dad."
"You know that isn't true. Did something happen at school?"
Victor shook his head again, "No..."
Dad sighed and nodded, "If you ever feel you have something to talk about with someone, we're here for you."
Victor nodded and then said, "I'm... I'm gay..." He stated calmly. I was lost at this moment not knowing what the word meant.
I glanced to my father waiting for his response as I wasn't sure if he knew either, but his jaw was dropped and eyes were wide so I assumed it may have been bad.
Suddenly the fork my mother was holding hit the table as her hand smacked down on it and she stood to her feet, "No you're f%$&ing not!" She shouted a word that I hadn't heard before.
Victor turned to her seeming to tear up and said, "N- no... I- I am. I'm sorry."
Her eyes widened and a faint grin crossed her face and she laughed a little, "You're 'sorry?' No! If you were sorry you'd tell me you're joking and drop the d*$% act!" She shouted another word I didn't recognize.
"It's not an act. I really am-"
"Fine! You wanna stand by that? Get the f$%# out of my house! I don't want to live under the same roof as someone so- so- weak!"
This statement confused me further, if there was one thing I thought of Victor, it wasn't that he's weak. He could even beat dad in wrestling.
My mom then turned to my dad and said, "Come on Reyen. Back me up! You aren't going to make me live under the same roof as him right?"
Dad looked at Victor then back at our mom. He sighed and shook his head, "No. I'm not."
Glancing at my mom she broke into a huge smile that was vaguely unsettling. She opened her mouth to say something but dad interrupted her, "You don't want to live under the same roof as someone so 'weak?' Then get the f%$& out of MY house!" He shouted.
Mom looked at him absolutely stunned. She took a breath in and went to say something but again was interrupted, "Victor, take Vincent upstairs."
Victor stood up and guided me up to his room. He sat me down on his lap and handed me his controller to play the game. I was really excited because he never let me play his games. He held onto me tight resting his chin on my head. I eventually got so into the game I couldn't hear what mom and dad were saying downstairs. When this is done I should tell dad he should check Victors roof. It felt like the rain water was leaking through.**
