CHAPTER ONE
ROSEWOOD City's taking a break as rush hour has just ended. It is 7:47 PM. Shoppers, office worker, and the rest are already in their houses. It is Friday. Everyone's at rest. Maybe they all had their dinner. Even cops are at peace. No crime reports to be worried about. But then what they thought as a silent night was disturbed by a roar of an engine crashing through the city streets.
"All units dispatch. I have spotted an overspeeding Chevrolet Camaro heading eastbound towards Camden Street. Suspect's running at 76 kilometers per hour"
An operator answers, "Please identify suspect"
"Negative. Suspect's moving too fast. I'm in pursuit"
The driver takes a turn and does not notice the traffic camera ahead. The camera had him but he just went through as if no one's looking. He even nearly hit a pedestrian crossing ahead.
"Hey watch it!"
The camera operator processes the image. ID's the suspect.
"Ok, I got it.The suspects riding a red Chevrolet Camaro with license plate NMB-2325"
She ran the plates for more information. The keyboards clicking fast. The mouse is swerving left and right. But for some reason, she slowed down and stopped. Her eyes, froze on what she saw.
"Call Mr. Smith"
Officer Richard Smith arrives inside Rosewood City Central Police Department after a meeting with a friend. A well-respected police officer. He's known by everybody - especially in the way of how neat he loops his tie on his neck and fix his hair until the day ends. One reason also is that he's the department's operational division director. He entered the operations management room. Everyone's busy and it seemed like they're up to something big.
His assistant Johnson approached him.
"Sir, we have a situation"
"What is it?"
With no hesitation, they both hurriedly stood in front of Johnson's monitor and stared at what's it projecting. "You're not gonna believe this sir" said Johnson with a shaking voice. "The man we're after, it's David Harris"
Unsure of he told him, he commands another personnel, "Run facial recognition. Verify suspect"
"I already ran it sir. It's confirmed"
After hearing this, Smith placed his unfinished cup of coffee on the table. Removes his coat and places it calmly on a vacant office chair behind him. Everyone was quiet. They stared at him. His eyes were fixed and determined. His team was waiting for his orders.
"Ok people. Let's get to it."
Right then, everyone sat in front of their respective desks and wore their headphones. Their hands sticked to their keyboards. Everyone's ready to do with what they'll be told.
The chase begins.
"Give me the suspect's last confirmed location"
