The New Generation

Flutter Dash's First Flight

I awoke to a feminine voice saying "Flutter Dash". I blinked the weariness from my eyes as I was in a room that felt elevated there was no one else so I assumed it was an intercom again because the voice came from above me but the voice spoke again and said "Up here stupid experiment!". I looked up to see a pegasus, I ignored her earlier remark and asked "Who are you?" her response was "Shut up and get flying already will ya!". "Why did you call me experiment and Flutter Dash?" "Because that is all you are is an useless experment, I wish I wasn't here I have better things to do than to try and teach a failure!". After my confusion and the pegasus' harsh insult I could not hold back the tears anymore. They flowed from my eyes like a faucet. She yelled "I will give you something to cry about!" with an expression filled with rage she swooped at me, I thought that it was not as bad as it could have been but then I realized that the pegasus was holding me over a giant pit. Now I know why the room felt elevated it was because I was on a ledge. The giant room seemed like a flight practice zone. Then it hit me I must have wings I concentrated on flexing them but it was like they were not even there I just could not feel them. Another thought occurred to me this pegasus was going to drop me because she wanted me to fail...

"I won't let you win!" I yelled "Oh really!" she asked sarcastically and like that I was free faling heading for my doom. Suddenly as if by instinct my wings expanded, their wingspan seemed pretty wide for my petite body. I was flying though thats all that mattered right now, the wind blowing through my mane and ruffling my feathers. Maybe I can use these to make my escape from this horrible place. I spotted a small vent it seemed just big enough for me but to small for the adult pegasus. I made a break for it, barely squeezing in before the pegasus noticed me trying to escape she screamed and yelled but I could not hear her the vent was to cramped even for sound. As I was crawling through the airvent it was like memory lane. I saw the room with the tubes like the one I emerged from, the strange nursery I awoke in, the room where they tested me, but then I saw something out of the ordinary a room with dummies in it and then I saw a foal. "What was she doing here? I thought me and the mean blue foal were the only foals here." I watched her and I saw something beautiful happen, her horn lit up a bright pink and shot a beam at one of the dummies, then the dummy turned pink. It was sort of funny seeing her mess up but then she hid. It was so fast the next thing I saw was a purple beam hit the glass the doctors were behind and then she panicked and ran into a wall "Nice idea smart one." I whispered smug-like. Then another bright purple beam hit the wall and she was gone. I decided to keep crawling through the vents until I found an exit, I thought "If I kept going in one direction I might find a duct that leads outside, *Gulp* I  sure hope so."
