"Are you ok?" a mysterious man says, standing above me. Seeming as I just got chased by three men who just randomly started following me, I was knocked unconscious by those same men, and I'm just now waking up to another completely different person standing above me, no. I'm absolutely terrified.
"Do I look ok to you?" I say, and he reaches a hand out for me. I reluctantly take his hand and he helps me stand. "Well, I saw an unconscious young girl laying in an alley, propped up against a wall, and I decided to come see what happened," the man says. You're probably wondering who this mysterious guy is. Well even I don't know who the man is. He's wearing a black cloak with the hood on, and I can't see his face, so I can't identify him.
"Take your hood off," I say, pointing at the hood to his cloak.
"Why?" he says, taking one step away from me.
"Well, I want to see your face, so I can identify who you are." I take a step towards him so we're back at the same distance from each other that we were before.
"My identity is none of your business." He turns his head to look at the opening leading to the alley we're in. It's pretty late, so the only illuminations are the dull streetlights going up and down the city street. It's a new moon tonight, so the sky is completely black except for a few scattered stars. For some reason, the normally busy street is abandoned at this time of night, so no cars are passing down it.
"Why is it none of my business? I need to know who saved me," I say, getting more and more curious by the second.
"I didn't save you, I just found you. My identity is none of your business," he says, turning his head to look down at me again. Did I mention, I am way shorter than him? I'm only 5'10", and he's around like 6'5". Tall man. I love it, but I can't let him know that.
"Your identity is my business if you're talking to me right now. Take your hood off!" I say, not yelling, but talking a bit louder than I was before.
"No. Now, either you want a ride or you don't. Because I'm 87 percent sure you don't have a ride home. Either that or you don't have a home to go to," he says, crossing his arms.
"I'm appalled you would think that! Of course I have a home! And I can walk, for your information," I say, mimicking him by crossing my arms also.
"Oh really? A, I'm guessing, 19 year old girl walking home by herself late at night?" he says, and I can't see it, but I can sense he rolls his eyes.
"I'm not 19 first of all. I'm 21. And second of all, I can walk if I want to," I say, rolling my eyes right back at him.
"Aww, 21. Such a big difference," he says, sarcastically.
I flip the bird at him and begin to walk away, but he walks right behind me and picks me up, draping me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I yell, kicking my legs against his chest and pounding my fists on his back.
"Nope. I don't like the idea of you walking home by yourself, so you're getting in my car whether you like it or not," he says, and just continues to walk like my kicking and punching did nothing.
"I'm pretty sure me getting in a stranger's car is less safe than me walking home by myself at night!" I almost say, but I just keep my mouth shut. Don't want to make this stranger mad at me.
After a while of walking, I eventually stop resisting, and we reach a stopping point. He sets me down and opens the passenger seat car door for me, and I reluctantly get into the car and shut the door. He goes around the front of the car and gets in the driver's seat, and starts the car with the press of a button.
