Peter noted that they were obviously siblings, but the thing was that they looked so strikingly alike that Peter had to blink twice just to distinguish them, and it seemed that Ned had started a conversation with the girl, who seemed to be the younger one out of them.
Ned had learned that the girl's name was Alessa and that she was a sophomore just like them, but it didn't explain why they rarely saw her in class.
But she would simply say she sometimes skips class to sit on the rooftop and work on some of her inventions, which intrigued them they wanted to know what kind of inventions she had came up with.
Peter then noticed Ned attempting to have a friendly chat with Joshua, Alessa's older brother and in her own words, 'the bookworm senior who has an inner hatred for himself'.
But Joshua seemed to be the type of guy who didn't like interacting with people he didn't know or particularly like so he would raise a brow at Ned's attempt before going back to reading his book.
"Are you both twins?"
Ned would ask, noting the playfully offended look on Alessa's face as she nudges at her brother in order to grab his attention, but he seemed to be too nose deep into his book to join the short conversation.
"Last time somebody asked that, they fell off their chair," Alessa, for a moment, had a smug look on her face before giving Ned a soft smile and raised thick brows, "but seriously, we're not. I do actually have a twin sister though. But sadly, it's not this guy."
Alessa then went back to finishing the rest of her lunch just as Flash Thompson tripped over and fell face first into his tray of food, a few of the lunch tables snickering to themselves. And Peter swore there was a smug look crossing Joshua's face before he went back to reading the book he had on hand, expressionless as Flash storms up to the table Peter and Ned were seated at, wiping mashed potatoes off his face.
"YOU ARE SO DEAD PENIS PARKER--"
But before Flash could inflict any harm on Peter, Christina steps in and grabbed Flash's wrist, giving him an intimidating look.
"Principal's office, now."
Her words had a stern and authoritative air, which had Flash looking visibly afraid. Judging by the look behind his eyes, he wanted to talk back and disobey orders before he walked off to the principal's office, grumbling underneath his breath.
Peter then took note of Christina handing Joshua a note and the expression on Joshua's face shifting to something akin to panic. But he decided not to question it, going back to finish his lunch and minding his own business.
The rest of the school day went by quickly; some aspects of the day Peter recalled apart from Flash shooting him daggers -- a strange conversation he had about fairy floss in the hallway with a very energetic and bubbly junior and running into Alessa in PE class, noting she sat out of class, tinkering around with her smartphone after nearly having a asthma attack because she had forgotten to have her asthma puffer on hand.
But apart from those occurrences, just another ordinary day for Peter.
"How was school, Peter?"
Aunt May would ask him from across the dinner table, taking notice of the bored expression etched across his features.
"Average. Nothing really eventful happened except for Flash tripping over and landing face first into his lunch."
