Michael Mell was excited for his first day of school. It would be new and exciting and he would hopefully make some friends. His mom dropped him off at the door and told him to have a good day. He stumbled into the classroom and looked around, it was very colorful. There was a corner littered with many different toys and such and another corner that had a few bookshelves and some bean bag chairs to sit in while reading. The walls were covered in posters and one particular poster, which had a rainbow on it, seemed to call out to him. While looking at the desks and trying to figure out where to sit, Michael saw a small boy in the back row by himself. He made his way over to the boy and sat down next to him, "Hi, I'm Michael." He said to the child sitting next to him. The poor boy jumped at the sudden noise and turned to look at Michael. He wasn't used to anyone ever conversating with him. "I'm J-Jeremy." he introduced himself. Michael smiled, "Do you want to be my friend?" he asked Jeremy. Jeremy smiled back and then nodded. Then the teacher started talking and interrupted their conversation. "Hello students, my name is Ms. Fleming (had to throw at least one reference in) and welcome to your first day of kindergarten, for the first day, I'm going to let you do whatever you'd like, you can play with toys, read, or talk to your friends." She said and went to sit down at her desk. Michael turned to Jeremy, "So what do you want to talk about?" Jeremy just shrugged and they ended up talking about random things for most the day, Jeremy didn't talk as much as Michael did. Near the end of the day, Michael randomly said, "I like you a lot, I want to marry you." Jeremy just smiled and hugged him. When the day was over and their moms had come to pick them up, Michael ran to his mom, holding Jeremy's hand, and said "Mom! Can I marry Jeremy?!" Both Michael's mom, and Jeremy's mom, who happened to walk in at the right time, laughed a little and smiled. Michael's mom replied with "Maybe someday, when you're older." Michael and Jeremy said goodbye and hugged one more time before going home. Michael smiled brightly on the car ride home. He couldn't wait for tomorrow, when he'd get to see Jeremy again.
