She was sleeping in her room, the small lamp on her nightstand on. She had dark red walls, and a bright red bed set, which matched with the walls. The lamp glowed an ominous orange, casting a soft, eerie orange light on the walls and the sheets of her bed. Everything was peaceful, and she took gentle breaths as she slept. A sudden bang coming from the front door woke her from her tranquil slumber, her heart instantly racing in fear. She slowly sat up and put her slippers on to walk to the front door. She was slightly embarrassed, all she was wearing a large t-shirt and a pair of shorts, so whoever was going to greet her at the front door, would probably be weirded out. As she walked over to the front door she could hear the door being opened by a pair of keys and a few distressed groans. She instantly knew who it was, and instead of allowing him to open the door frustratingly, she opened it for him.
"Why are you up? I was gonna open the door myself.."
"Please, Nate. I heard you struggling. Plus you kinda banged on the door.. with your fist or something? Or you kicked it? I dunno. It woke me up though, and I figured I should check who's here.." Nate rolled his eyes. He was slightly drunk, and frustrated at that. He wanted to open the door all by himself, and definitely didn't want to wake Amelia up. He wanted her to stay asleep, so she could get up tomorrow early enough to not be tired. He, of course, cared about her health.. and a lot more than that, too. At the time they were just sharing an apartment, but Nate wanted to do much more than that. He wasn't sure she felt the same. Although in reality, she did. Both of them hesitated to admit so.
"Go back to sleep Amelia, you need sleep. Even though you're not busy tomorrow.. just.. Sleep." Amelia slouched a little and nodded, proceeding to walk slowly to her room.
"Good night, Nate," she said, smiling just a little. She watched as he pulled a 6 pack of beer out of the fridge.
"Good night Amelia," he said, as he proceeded to his room to drink and crash for the night. He may have been slightly drunk, but he just honestly wanted to get more drunk. Amelia casted a worried look on her face as she walked into her room. She knew that Nate only drank when he was really upset. Something must have happened to really upset him. She just shook it off. She didn't want to pry into his business, that would be rude, and honestly, they weren't even together, just close friends.. She wasn't going to ask the world from him. She sat on her bed, gently slid out of her slippers, and lied back down on her bed. She covered herself with her blankets and tried desperately to sleep, with no avail.
