Second Trial Part 1 (Cedric x Reader)

Hey guys so I hope you like this one I have seen others do their takes on it and I wanted to do my own version. This is extremely long so there will be a part 2 coming soon. Also I made this before I read or watched The Goblet of Fire so it's not completely accurate. Anyway enjoy!

Your POV

Me and Cedric are best friends, have been since our first year. We were both sorted into Hufflepuff, and we were inseparable by the end of the year. Everyone knew us as, "the Hufflepuff Twins", some people even thought we would date each other when we were older. I admit to myself I have liked him since 3rd year, but he probably doesn't like me. I know that Cho likes Cedric, most girls do, but Cho is terrible, literally the worst. She always says, "Stay away from my man," then would push me to the ground, call me terrible names, and laugh with her friends. She also occasionally physically hurts me. God I hate her!

Right now me and Cedric are in the Hufflepuff common room at 10 pm in our pajamas going over spells to use when he has "to retrieve something dear to him." We figured out a week ago that he had to retrieve something dear to him from the lake but if he didn't within 30 minutes it would be gone, and we have been practicing spells since.

"Hey Ced?" "Yeah?" "What do you think the 'something dear to you' will be?" "I honestly don't know, I don't really have many things that are really dear to me." "Well I guess we will see. Now let's keep going because the second task is tomorrow." Cedric nodded and smiles his big toothy grin at me. It litertally felt like we had just began to study again when the clock chimed. "12 am already?!" "Well I guess we should get some sleep if I want to have enegy for the second task." "Yeah, night Ced." I say smiling at him. I hug him and he hugs me back before I walk up to my dorm room. "Night Y/N." I hear Cedric call from the common room. I can't help but smile, he's so kind and caring. I went to my bed, climbed in and snuggled under the covers.

The next morning me and Cedric walk down to breakfast a little later than usual because of how late we stayed up. We sit down across from each other and start grabbing food. "You'll be there cheering for me won't you?" "Of course! When have I have missed one of your events?" I have never missed any of Cedric's Quidditch games, parties, tasks, you name it, since we met; and he never missed any of mine except that one time when I had a birthday party and Cedric had a fever. Cedric still went but I brought him up to his dorm room and told him, "Get some rest you need to get better." "But I can't miss your birthday party that would break the streak and it would be rude." he said as I put him in his bed. "You can celebrate with me when you feel better, okay?" "Fine, but I'm not happy about this."

After breakfast we headed to our first class and I sit with Cedric, like I always do. All through out the day I tried to focus in class but my head kept thinking about the second task.

What would be in the lake to make it diffocult?

What would Cedric retrieve that was dearest to him?

How would it be gone if he didnt get it in 30 minutes?

Finally, during our last class of the day before the second task someone knocks. Professor Snape opened the door and a girl student appeared, she wasn't in our class but than I recognize her as a 7th year Ravenclaw. "Professor Snape, Dumbledore wants to see Y/N L/N." I start to feel nervous when I hear this. What did I do wrong? "Alright, Miss L/N please follow the girl." "Yes sir." I start to gather my things when the girl speaks, "Dumbledore ask that you don't bring anything with you." "Oh, okay." "Ced, can you bring my stuff to my dorm?" "Yeah sure." he shyly smiles at me knowing I'm nervous. "It'll be okay." "Thanks." Then I followed the girl to meet Dumbledore.
