The Underworld

The Underworld was strange.

Ciel could see the hunger in Sebastian's eyes. The deep, painful longing for a soul to devour, it almost made him laugh. Despite this, Ciel had considered Sebastian lucky, he had an appetite, Ciel himself had not eaten in 6 months, nor wanted to.

What are you thinking? Ciel thought to himself, Do you even know where we are? Or where we're going?

(The Underworld was indescribable, I couldn't describe it if I tried.)

Ciel grew tired of asking Sebastian questions, so neither of them had spoken for days, instead, Sebastian carried Ciel through the depths of the Underworld, searching for nothing in particular.

The Underworld is strange...

Sebastian stopped. For the first time in days, Ciel spoke,

"What is it?"

Sebastian's eyes glowed bright red, and instantly Ciel knew what it was.

A soul....

Sebastian suddenly stretched out an arm in front of Ciel's face. Ciel jumped backwards as a cloud of black sprung at him and hit Sebastian's hand. It burned.
"What is that?" Ciel cried, watching as Sebastian deflected another attack with his right hand. The black cloud hit his palm. Ciel noticed that his butler's hand was sizzling.
"That," Sebastian said gently, "is a tainted soul."
"What's a tainted soul?!" Ciel yelled over the sound of the soul flying past his head.
To this Sebastian did not reply.
The soul continued to fly around Sebastian until...

"SEBASTIAN" Ciel shrieked. Suddenly he was falling, falling, falling. He glanced upwards, and saw Sebastian, staring down at the dark hole that had opened up, Ciel noticed Sebastian was missing an arm.
The soul had disappeared. And had taken the form of a hole, a large black hole that had taken Ciel down with it.

Falling falling falling falling....

I cannot begin to describe the horror of Ciel's screaming, how loud it was, how terrified he was, and of course, all he could see was pitch black.

Falling falling falling falling....

Eventually, Ciel came to land, in a seemingly endless white field. He paused, hesitating, he opened his eyes. He was alive. He was alive, but not safe. For he had fallen straight into the arms of Adrian Crevan - The Undertaker.
