When it all began

The familiar mechanic lock of the door rouses me from my sleep.
I moan as I open my eyes, the light making my vision blurry. A sharp pain in the back of my head causes me to shut my eyes tight again.

The last thing I remembered was breaking into the underground lab where I worked in search of survivors, but all I found was a room full of glass cages holding creatures of the likes I'd never seen before. Their red colour was the first thing I noticed, second, their brains on display, and third, their tongues as they lashed at the glass as I approached.

Then my phone rang, making me jump and causing the creatures to get rowdy.
"Hunnigan?" I asked
"Alison, listen to me, a team is on their way, they will be there within the next ten minutes, you need to get out of there, now!"

Then I heard a noise behind me, but before I could turn around, I felt a sharp pain in my skull, and I hit the floor, dropping my phone.

"Alison!?" I hear Hunnigan shout through the phone as legs come into focus as I try to look up to the figure clouded in darkness
"You've been a very bad girl, Alison," a familiar voice says before everything went black.

I hiss as I sit up, holding the back of my head. I pull my warm fingers away to see blood.

I push myself to my feet and look around the room I was now in.
It was a strange room with a blue hue of light coming from computers and containers holding water. There was a metal table in the middle and a computer to my right that took up 3 screens.

3 walls were normal, but the fourth, which held the door, was made entirely from glass, giving me a view of the empty white hallway.

I searched myself for my phone, but I didn't have it. Whoever had knocked me out and dumped me in this room must have taken it.
"Shit" I mutter, hitting the glass door with my palms.
I look back and spot the chair and pick it up, swinging at the glass wall, there's a loud clink but the glass doesn't crack. After a few minutes of trying I drop the chair and take a few deep breaths.
Just then, an alarm blares from all around me, red lights in the back corners of the room flashing.
Was that the team Hunnigan was on about? Were they here?

I try to log onto the computer to try and access the cameras and hopefully the release for the doors but the login codes were too hard to crack. I launch the keypad in anger and lean on the desk looking at the room as I try to calm myself. The alarm stops, but the red lights continued to flash.

Suddenly a noise from above me catches my attention, making me look up to the ceiling. I think I'm hearing things with the alarms leaving my ears ringing, and just as I sigh in relief, I hear it again. It sounded like someone was in the vents.
Of course, the vents!

I push the metal table up towards the corner of the room where the vent was and climb up, not caring about knocking anything off. Thanks to my heels, I managed to reach the vent, but it's screwed shut. I sigh and jump down, rummaging through draws and cabinets, finally finding a few screwdrivers. I grab them all and climb back up on the table.

I hear the noise again. It sounds like there's a few people escaping through the vents. I decide against calling for help in case they know I'm the one that led the team here to rescue the humans that are being tested on here at OSCO bio science lab, where I work, or used to because I definitely quit. And not just because I got knocked out and locked in a room.
I know they're testing on humans, even if I hadn't seen proof yet.

As I launched the first screwdriver that was too big, I see 3 men appear at the glass wall to my left.
They hold their guns up, 2 of the men donned in black, the middle guy, with longer dirty blond hair wasn't wearing a vest with the letters D.S.O
Instead he wore a greenish grey vest, making him stand out from the others.
I freeze, my hands in the air still holding the screwdriver as the guns are pointed towards me.
