I had never seen the bar so busy. All day more and more people have been piling in. I was tired but I knew that if I took an extra break I wouldn't be able to pay for groceries next week. So I served drunk guy after drunk guy just watching the clock and waiting for my shift to be over. Then as I was getting ready to leave Martha walked up. "Hey Scarlet," she said "I know this is a lot to ask but the nanny just called and told me Jack is sick and I really need someone to cover my shift." Martha's a single mom and has a little boy. She is the sweetest person and I can't help feeling sorry for her. "Sure its no problem," I say even though Im exausted. She smiles and says thank you before heading out the door. I sigh and set down my bag. I was so close to getting out of here. Slowly I make my way back to the bar. People are starting to leave now thank God. Then I hear the bell attached to the door ring. And I eternally groan. I turn to the door to see a single guy enter. At least it's just one I think to myself. He's got dark hair and is about average height. He's also wearing a suit which seems a little strange to me. It's not just the suit that's strange though I just can't put my finger on what else that's bothering me. As he sits down at the bar I walk over. "Hi sir what can I get you to drink?" I say with a big fake smile.

To my surprise he smiles and laughs a little. What did I say that was so funny? As if he were reading my mind he says back in a light Scottish accent "You look like you've been through hell and I should know. That smile of yours doesn't fool me." For a minute I just stand there dumbfounded. This just seems to add to his entertainment. So I snap back "Im sorry but who the fuck do you think you are?" Without missing a beat he replies " The names Crowley and I believe I'm the king of hell." Then he gets up and causally walks out the door. I didn't even serve him a drink.
