Everyone turned their heads to see Deven. She is and has been my best friend for the longest time.
I noticed her hair was half done, her bookbag was unzipped, and she kept dropping her papers. I knew she forgot there was school today!
I laughed to myself and went over to help her. We politely asked if we could be excused and our teacher said yes, cringing at the sight of Dev. I told her to go to the bathroom, while I went and got my makeup and hair brushes from my locker. I may not be a girly girl, but they were still necessities to have on hand.
When I slammed my locker closed, I heard shuffling and people talking. I took a closer look and could make out who it was. It was those Mar-- something people twins! Creepy cool! They looked lost, so I casually strolled over to them.
"Lost?" I asked while smiling.
"Is it that obvious?" asked the one with the pink snapback and a freckle above his lip asked.
"Uhhhh, nahhh," I replied sarcastically.
They both laughed.
"Hmm," I said looking at their schedules, "You each have me for 5 periods of the day and I'm an interesting kid,"
I winked at no one in particular.
"We'll see how this goes," the other one with man bun said.
"We have the same class this period, but I'm dealing with a situation where my friend is in need of my help, so peace," I said holding a peace sign up.
"We are Marcus and Martinus, by the way," they both said at the same time.
"Yeah, I know," I stated.
"You do?" Mr.Manbun asked surprised.
"Yup. I've seen you guys on Insta, but don't worry! I'm not some wacko fan girl that stalks you and will try to chop off chunks of your hair for top secret purposes. Sorry, if I disappointed but see you guys around?" I asked.
They nodded in sync. Then, I turned around and started walking but they stop me.
"Wait!" one calls out to me. "What's your name?" the other finishes.
I guess twin telepathy is real.
"Thompson, Gia Thompson, but some people call me...a nickname that I will not tell you," I flipped my hair and pulled my shades over my eyes.
They laughed to themselves.
"See you later Gia!" they called out ti me.
"Bye Marvis and Martinez!" I joked, while turning the corner.
I got to the bathroom and saw that Deven looked even worse than before.
"OMG Dev! What happened to you?" I asked her while cracking up.
"I was waiting for you and trying to fix this," she answered motioning to herself. "Where were you by the way?" she asked me with a smirk on her face.
"Ehm, long story," I replied trying not to smile.
She looked at her imaginary watch.
"Hmm, look at that, I've got nothin' but time," she said looking back up at me.
"We really need to fix you up and get to class and I promise when we get there, you will understand," I said trying to change the subject.
She cocked her head and studied me.
"Fine," she agreed and let me fix her up.
