In a detrimental space where they'll lie
and try to save face,
Expecting me to acquiesce
Ignore my senses
and even gauge my odd eye
to shut out consciousness
to negate focus
But eye never rests,
Eye never closes
in succumbing to hypnosis
of those who swing pocket watches
Afront unexpecting patrons who sit still on couches
Of the ones only interested in the type of change
found in the cushions,
and restricting the type that brings peace into fruition
In a detrimental space,
I may lie,
but eye never rest
