Angela pressed her Chanel bag into her chest as she looked out of the window of the passenger's seat. She watched the trees and people pass by as her mother focused on the rode ahead of them.

It was a Wednesday morning as they drove through Beverly Hills. The weather was warm and the sun was out, which was something she still had to get used to since she was used to being homeschooled.

She never had to attend high school her whole seventeen years of life until her parents decided it was time for her to get a taste of the real world.

Angela sighed as her AirPods sat in her eyes to drown out her mother's old music.

"Come on, Angela. I promise you this will be the best thing to ever happen to you. You can make so many friends, remember what your therapist said." Her mother, Amber, said as she made a left turn.

"Mom, I have friends. I don't think I need anymore." Angela said with an attitude laced in her tone.

Amber shook her head. "My business partner's kids do not count. You only see them when we have cooperate parties." Her mother said.

"Which is the only time I'm willing to entertain people." Angel said.

Angela wasn't a people person. All she cared about was her music, books, the latest trends of fashion, and her family- even though she's the only child.

"Your therapist said you should open yourself up to more kids your age." Her mother said.

"I'm not going to be a kid anymore. I'm going to be eighteen in two months." Angela said as she fished through her Chanel bag to find her lip gloss.

Her birthday was four months away. She was late starting the school year, it was going on November. Her birthday is on April 2nd.

"I know, Angel, I just- please just try to get along with everyone." Her mom said as she pulled up in front of the enormous high school.

Beverly High, was big and bold on the sign. The school was modern and kept up. Many students of different classes walked outside, just stood their listening to music, talking, or making their way inside of the building.

"No promises." Was all Angela said before fluffing her long, curly install that was freshly done.

"Have a nice day, tomorrow you will drive yourself to school." Her mom said.

"Okay, love you too, mother dearest." Angela said exiting the car.

Her and her mother wasn't very affectionate and she got that from her mother. They both severely lacked empathy, sympathy, and were both very nonchalant in even the most serious situations.
