Uncertainty

Certainty is such a rarity. How can anyone be certain of anything in such a subjective world? Some people say the only thing that is certain in life is death. The only thing I'm certain of in this life is death and my fear of it. And ironically enough, it's the uncertainty of death that I fear the most.

There's God. And there's science. And there's some combination of the two that most of us believe in, but that no one can define, because they're uncertain where to draw the line. Call me a poet, but that's the truth and you know it. You can go to church every sunday, say a prayer every night, and only remove the cross hanging from your neck to bathe, but can you look your biology teacher in the eye and tell her she's preaching lies?

Maybe it's not even death that I fear. Maybe it's uncertainty. Of course, that serves as an umbrella term for death and all other things, but perhaps it stands single as well. I don't know. I can't be certain.

At this point the only thing I'm certain of is that this is confusing, and all I want is to make sense of it all.
