The Nerd I Loved (Block B Taeil)

Chapter 8

"I know, a little too hard to believe," I muttered. They must've been his friends from other schools, but why does Kyung want to hide the truth from us?

"Excuse me, can I sit with you guys? This cafeteria is really crowded and I really don't know anyone else around here.." We turned to see Daesung with his lunch tray, looking at Minzy as she stood there frozen staring right back,

"Of course! Have a seat next to Minji!" Bom exclaimed happily. He smiled and shyly sat next to her, making Minzy blush and avoid looking his way.

"How do you like our school so far?" Dara asked.

"It's so big, there's all kinds of people here. I'm a little frightened by what they've told me about today, though," he responded.

"What about today?" I asked.

"That there's some dude that choked another guy and had beaten him up good, and that the boy is still in the nurse's office right now," he said.I sighed.

"Oh, well that guy that had almost killed him is just insane, having a short temper and not caring about anyone. He deserved to get expelled from here. The one that got hurt is so sweet, though. Poor him," Bom said, looking at me when she said that. I just looked down at my food, not sure what to say. I feel like this had all been my fault, and I think I owe Taeil a lot.

"Well, anyways... Daesung, did you know we're going to have a dance in a couple of days?" Dara asked.

"Yes, I've been hearing so much about it and I've had a couple of girls come up to me and ask me to be their date, but, I plan to ask someone soon," he replied, lookng at Minzy and she looked down at the floor and blushed. Bom nudged Dara's shoulder as if t say,'finally out maknae has a boyfriend'.

After lunch, it was just an okay day, no stressing work but no free days either. As soon as the bell rung, I went to the nurse's office to check on Taeil. He was siting down, playing some game on his iPad. He then noticed me and put it away and smiled.

"You came," he said. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, yeah, I said I was coming, right?" I responded. He simply chuckled.

"So you're feeling better?" I asked. He nodded happily.

"I got plenty of rest and my throat doesn't hurt," he replied.

"Chaerin, what happened to Kai?" he asked. I sighed.

"He got expelled."

"I'm sorry," he whispered. I looked at him in confusion.

"Sorry for what?" I asked.

"I'm sorry he got in trouble because of me and now you won't see him because he got expelled."

I scoffed. "Really, Taeil? Really? nHe almost killed you there, you heard how bad he insulted me, and you expect me to still want to see him? He's out of my life. He was no good."

"Glad you had finally noticed that. And thanks for saving me this morning," he said.

"You know, I think you would've just let me there if we weren't friends. You hated me so much-"

"I still do," I replied jokingly, flashing a smile. "And I wouldn't have left you there, I would've saved anyone."

"Anyone? I don't feel very special anymore," He said, pouting. I don't know how I just found that adorable. I giggled at his action.

"Hey, remembe how you said you owe me for letting you copy off my homework everyday?" He asked.

"Yah, I don't copy off you everyday! Just like, once a week or something.. " I defended.

"You still owe me for lots of stuff, and I'm still hurt."

"Ugh, what do you want then?" I asked, crossing my arms. He smirked, making me unsure on what he's about to say.

"Go to the dance with me."

I froze. Why am I so nervous about this when I can simply say no, that I don't like him. Yet, I do owe him and I feel guilt for what happened this morning... I sighed in defeat.

"You evil nerd!" I exclaimed and he only laughed.

"I knew you wouldn't want to miss the awesome opportunity. And hey, you've been my crush since forever and you know that, you should've seen that coming," he said with a wink.

"It's only because my mom insists on that as well," I muttered, rolling my eyes. What the heck did I just do .. I said yes to him. Lee Chaerin agreed to go to the dance with the nerd. I mentally facepalmed myself.

"Taeil, are you feeling okay now?" The nurse asked, walking into the room. He nodded happily.

"Thank you so much for taking care of me," he said with a bow.She nodded and then turned to me and smiled.

"Who's this, is she your girlfriend?"

"Uh-"

"Yes, isn't she beautiful?" Taeil exclaimed, putting an arm around my shoulder. Oh gosh, there he goes again.

"You guys are such a cute couple!" she squealed. Me and him, a cute couple? We look like a ... nerd and a popular girl .. no way does that look good. I simply stayed quiet, fake smiling. When we left tihe office and got outside the school, I gave Taeil my most deadliest glares. For some reason, he just always seems to enjoy them for some reason, looking at my eyes in awe. Since that didn't work, I said," Really, me? Your girlfriend? Keep dreaming, kid."

"I'll keep dreaming but it will become true one day," he said, blowing a kiss at me, making my cheeks heat up. Is it anger, or am I blushing..?

Forget that, I have a kid to strangle.

"Taeil get back here so I can kill you!!" I angrily said, chasing after him as he laughed. I can't be falling for him, I just don't want to .. but what if it's too late to go back?
