The Nerd I Loved (Block B Taeil)

Chapter 8

"Chaerin?" Taeil said quite weakly.

"Ne?"

"What Kai said is not true, you're not nothing, you're amazing-"

"Taeil, please don't speak, it's bad for your throat right now," I told him before he could say anything else. Every time he says something nice, my heart starts beating like crazy and I try not to pay attention to those butterflies in my stomach, but I just can't. I might as well make him not say a word or else those unwanted feelings come back. He simply nodded and smiled, laying on the nurse bed. On the other bed, it was some guy that said they had a 'stomachache'. I noticed it was almost time for class to start and I told Taeil I'll see how he's doing during lunchtime.

When I was about to walk outside, there were six boys fixing to walk in the nurses office. All of them had different school uniform from other schools. What are they doing here? Out of the six, I spotted Kyung.

"Hey, Kyung!" I greeted him. He smiled and greeted back.

"Is Taeil any better now? We heard what happened," Kyung said.

"He's still kind of struggling to breathe because of the strong grasp but he'll be okay," I told him.

"Wait, are you Chaerin?" a guy with a deep voice asked.

"The one Taeil always talks about?" said another. I looked at them in confusion.

"Who are they?" I asked Kyung. His face expressed worry and seemed speechless.

"Uh, they're here to see how Taeil is doing, they're his ... his um .. cousins!" Kyung exclaimed.

"What? We're his me-"

"WE GOTTA GO! Bye Chaerin!" Kyung said, pushing them all into the nurses office. One of them came near me before walking in a smiled.

"Jaehyo's the name," he said with a wink, then they went inside the nurse's office. That was just weird, what are they doing here? Cousins? That Jaehyo dude is not that bad looking though, maybe I'll see them again?

"Class, we have a new student," the history teacher announced. Could it be one of the guys from this morning?

"Annyeonghaseo, Kang Daesung imnida. I'm Korean but I lived in Japan for a while, I hope to be friends with all of you!" he exclaimed with a bow. Many girls swooned over him, amazed by his looks. Not really my type, but he was okay.

"Nice to meet you, Daesung. Why not have a seat next to ... Minji?" the teacher said. I turned to my right with Minzy sitting next to me with an empty seat next to her. Daesung obediently nodded and made his way towards the seat next to Minzy. He sat down and smiled at her."

"Hello! You're Minji?" he asked her. She blushed and nodded.

"But I go by .. Minzy," she said shyly.

"Nice to meet you, Minzy," he said with a bright smile, shaking hands with her.

Minzy has a crush~!

Hehe, I can't wait until I get to tease her later ..

"Did anyone see the group of guys this morning? The ones that had different school uniform?" Bom asked us at lunch.

"The ones that were with Kyung?" Dara asked.

"Oh, I saw them! Why were they here though?" Minzy added.

"Well, Kyung said they were Taeil's cousins that were concerned about what happened to him," I told them.

"Cousins? Really? There were five of them not including Kyung and neither of them looked a bit alike," Minzy said in disbelief.
