Myra Stauffer Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 6:34 a.m. Large, sparkling, blue eyes that could steal your heart with one look. Small brown hairs with small strokes of blonde, softer than cotton.
Tiny hands that squeeze on tight to anything in arms reach. On the outside, a healthy child. But Ruby May Stauffer had something strange inside.

A nurse was scanning Ruby's health on computer and her eyes widened as her face twisted with worry. " Mrs.Stauffer, we need to take Ruby to the emergency care center. We'll explain later. " the nurse explained.
"What!? Why? Not my Ruby!" Myra yelled.
"Please ma'am, it's urgent." The nurse said, carefully taking baby Ruby away from her mother.
Another nurse entered the room.
"Ma'am, your daughter has a very strange heart defect that we've never seen before. Her heart is made of some material we cannot identify. She is expected to live until the age of 17 years old." The other nurse explained with sympathy.
"Not my poor Ruby." Myra cried, her eyes glazed with tears. "Are you sure there's no cure? Anything?"
"I wish there was, but there is no other way. "
