Chapter 9: Unexpected Encounter

"A glowing crystal?" I asked myself.

Tumingin ako sa paligid. What is this place? Ngayon ko lang narealize na hinding ordinaryong kwarto pala ang pinasukan ko. Nakakatakot, parang tumitibok yung lumulutang na crystal.

"What is this..." Pagtataka ko.

"It's the Crystal of life.." Nagulat ako ng biglang may nagsalita. Tumalikod ako at nakita ko si Miss Arissa. "P-pasensya na po! Hindi ko pong sinasadyang pumasok. Sinundan ko lang si Lopi!" Yumuko ako at humingi ng tawad.

"It's okay." She smiled. "Lopi, seems interested to you."

"Arf! Arf! Arf!" Tumakbo yung aso papunta kay Miss Arissa.

"I know I have no rights to ask this, but ano po ito?" I curiously asked.

"That's the Crystal of Life." Maikli niyang sagot. "Ang kalahating buhay ng paaralang ito." Napatingin ako sa Crystal. The crystal is glowing and it is beating like it has a heart beat. It looks so fragile yet so powerful.

"Kalahating buhay?" Pagtataka ko.

"You see, the academy has a life. That Crystal of Life, owns half of Academy's life. The other half is me." Pagpapaliwanag ni Miss Arissa.

"What do you mean?"

"The Crystal of Life is the foundation of magic. And I am the reason of our safety here. Without the Crystal, the academy might collapse. And without me, the Holy Shield will be disrupted."

"Anong mangyayari kapag masira ang Holy Shield?" I asked some possibilities.

"We will no longer be protected. This world is not an ordinary world. It lives in chaos, dark creatures and dangerous magic. If the Holy Shield will be destroyed, then we will be an easy target to Alissa."

"Whose Alissa?"

"My half sister. She's a demonic wizard... living in Verlumia. Nagawa niya ng magpalaganap ng lagim sa mundong ito. And the Majica Academy, is the only safest place, which she had not yet intrude."

"Then we're in danger?" Kinakabahon kong tugon.

"Don't worry my dear, the students in the academy will save this world."

"So you entrusted mortals to save your world?" I asked. "You really think we can save this world?" I asked.

"I entrusted you." She smiled.

Naiwan akong nakatulala. She trust me? Hindi niya nga alam pangalan ko. Isa lang akong random student na nagkataong mapapunta sa office niya, and now she specifically trust me? What is she saying?

"Let's go, the cookies are ready to eat!" Banggit niya habang naglalakad papalayo.

It is currently weekend so of course we do not have class. Habang nasa bahay I tried to read Book of Magic Spells and start memorizing some spells. Ayoko ng mapahiya, kaya kailangan kong aralin ang mga spells na ito without reading the book.

*Knock! Knock! Knock!*

"What are you doing?" My mom asked.

"Reading..." Banggit ko at pumasok ng kwarto si mama. "How are you doing in school?" She asked concernedly.

"It's crazy but I'm still trying my best to cope up." I answered.
