I wish I could be what you want me to be
But I cannot, a burning desire to be something more
I aim to be, that something that you abhor
I will not comply with your rules and laws
Better called restrictions
What if a girl wants to wear boxers, no makeup and have hair?
So what if a boy wants to wear makeup and skirts?
I'm a guy, I want to have muscles and be a man
But I also want to wear makeup and skirts and dresses
Is that wrong of me?
Or society?
Who are you to tell me what I can and can't be or do
I will not be a part of your restrictions, fuck you
You expectations are higher than the sky
You encourage us to be unique but shout when we do
What's wrong with being ourselves?
What's wrong with knowing who we are?

PoetryA poem I wrote with transgender prejudice in mind, and how it's supported yet looked down upon.
