Third person POV:

"Find. Him. I want him in 2 days Xeron. And if you fail me, I would make sure that your precious wife goes through eternal pain and suffering." Draudhoff said.

And so the chase begin.

The Dark army was chasing the person who was capable of bringing dead upon thousands by uttering a single word.

Alexandre Ravener was the most powerful wizard. Or rather the only wizard remaining.

Others of his kind had died in the war against the Dark army. Those remaining were slaughtered.

He was the last of them. The only person who could use magic.
It was his duty now to save it.

The Dark army was searching for him relentlessly. They were killing inocent people & children, burning their homes, destroying everything that was close to the wizard.

★★★★★★

"Alexandre, have you gone mad? I do understand that you are the last wizard but think about yourself. You are signing a deal with the devil, open your eyes for goodness' sake." Aldrum said.

"Aldrum, please. If I don't do this then people will die because of me. You all will die and I can't, I... just can't bear to see that. I must do this. And I am trusting this to you. The Council of Magic decided that I have to be the one to save magic, to save humanity from itself, to save these lands on which I was born. There is no other way. I am so sorry Aldrum but I have to cleanse this world of the evils. I do know that I would never go to Heaven but that is a price I am willing to pay." Alexandre said, his voice flattering in between though his face showed determination.

And as soon as Aldrum saw his face, he knew that there was no way that his idiot friend will back down."Alexandre, I.... I just hope that you don't regret this. After this you will have an emmense amount of time on your hand to think about your mistakes. This could backfire. You may lose your sanity and that will be the end of magic."

"I know that. It's a gamble but the best possible solution to this nightmare." Alexandre responded after a second."Thank you, Aldrum. Thank you so much. But now I have to go. Bye, my friend."

With that he let himself drown in the darkness of the solitude hoping that one day, he would come back from sleep to guide the person who would finally do what he couldn't.
