the stars lit up when you were here once.
it was funny
because i hadn't remembered
that you lived in the sky
and then you were there.you
laughing,
but with no sound
eyes crying
like mine, like you hadn't seen it.you'd seen it all
the motivational quotes
plastered on her walls; of no use
were they to you or to me
but you kept them anyways.the duality
on each side of your sudden
smile more often, they said
than not was from
just minor insecurities, that's all.instead of rain
you brought stars too
and a campfire hand
of grease and of your
brothers, of your own.perhaps
one of these days
we'll go to paris instead.
