"She was beautiful, let me tell you. It's like all the light in the world shone through her eyes. In that you could see her innocence, it was like dew on a flower in the early morning sun. It was too bright, too pure, too sweet, and it scared me. She didn't know how the world really worked and the day she found out would be the end of her.

"You could say that life hit her like a wave when the accident happened, when all the light she once had got snuffed out. She was finally shown what life and the world really was in the end; death. There she was stuck eternally, having lost everything.

"She wasn't the same. Her family didn't know what to do, they didn't know who this girl was anymore. They wondered what had happened to her, but more then that, what would make her normal again. In the end they thought the only thing that could help her was to be sent away, they did just that.

"Day after day she sat in the white walled room, isolated. Always having another doctor come in, always finding one thing after another to make another line along her body. She always thought that if she could just find a way home, it would all be better. That there would be no more suffering. She tried to escape time and time again, but there was always someone there to stop her.

"Then, one day they all thought she had her light again, that three years of this so called treatment had brought her back. It was a lie, of course, but she was used to lying. She was sent to a place that used to mean the world to her. She was where it all began. A light tug bordering her heart was a constant reminder that she could never fully change.

"So, she began to live, at least to their standards. She wasn't normal, not that she ever was, but it was different now. She wasn't different as in the girl who was forever happy, in fact, it was quite the opposite. No one could understand and most of them never would. She hid everything behind closed doors, you see. She didn't want to hurt anyone else.

"She went on fighting her war against all odds. Not the kind of war with guns and soldiers, or the kind where you have to kill others to stay alive, but the kind when you're your own enemy. She didn't just sit back and take it, no matter how much of a fight the other side put up.

"My darling now you see, she was a warrior. She went through unimaginable trials in the time she served. But you know what? She lived. Sure she may have some scars from the fight, some wounds that need some time to heal. Still, she holds her head high and wears her wounds like wings. She won the fight."

   "Mommy, where is she?"

"She is right here with you, baby girl. Always."
