Chapter 3 - Luke Gomez

Name: Luke Gomez

He is one of my elementary friends. We both love playing computer games. Now in secondary level, I treat him as my son (not literally). He has the traits of Touya too, which are, being cool, kind, caring, cheerful, and all the others except that, he doesn't trust me too much.

Being classmates and friends since Grade 1 in elementary, I wouldn't expect that he would trust a newly met classmate more than me. I mean, why doesn't he trust me?

I decided to change that. I wouldn't live on forever asking about his secrets but he wouldn't tell me. I tried everything I could do. But, his heart is like a rock. Still, I didn't let all my anger get out. I just hang out with him, played computer games and still have fun until we get so close with each other.

"So, how bout' lets talk about each others secrets.", said Luke. "I mean, trust me. I could keep secrets.", Luke said instantly. I was really excited that time. I mentally panicked but managed to go on with the flow. "You go first.", I told him. "You go first. Trust me.", Luke replied. I felt a little suspicious but just agreed with him. I really told him some of my secrets truthfully. Suddenly, he burst into laughter. I was wondering why. "I pranked you! I won't really tell my secrets.", Luke said. My anger went from head to heaven! I wanted to shout but we were in a computer shop. I just punched him secretly in his right shoulder and walked away.

The next day, we were at school. I didn't talk to him or do a single thing with him. I got so angry. At recess, I saw him and his friends in the canteen. They were talking and laughing. I was worried that he would spread my secrets. So, I sneaked behind them which was a wall and a small window. I heard my name only. Then, I looked at the place they stood. They were gone. After, I went inside the canteen pretending to buy something but was actually going to look for them. I didn't see them at first but then I saw them in the very front of the line. I went out of the line and waited for him outside. He and his friends went outside. "Can I talk to Luke for a while? I want to discuss with him some important matters.", I said. I grabbed him to the mess hall and then I let out all of my anger at him.

"Marty!", he yelled. I quickly stopped. "What the hell are you talking about?", he said. What the hell am I talking about? After every single word I've sput out, he didn't even realize what I want to express for him to change the way he treats me. "I trust you!", he said suddenly. "Its just that you spread every, well, not really evety, word I say making me lose my trust in you.", he said as if he was the one who pities me. I felt kinda guilty. I felt ashamed and walked away.

-Next day-

it was a saturday and there were no classes. It was a hot, sunny day. I could hardly breathe because of the burning temperature. It felt like walking in a wide desert without water. well, at least there were food though (and softdrinks) which I thanked for but still, it couldn't withstand the heat of the day. Suddenly, my phone rang. I answered the call witjout bothering to look at who is calling. "Yellow.", I said. "I'm really sorry for yesterday, Marty.". It was Luke on the other end of the phone. I choked up on my food and coughed up all the way to the sink. I answered it again pretending that I didn't hear a single thing. "I said I'm sorry okay! So would you cut it out? I'm sorry for not trusting you.", he said instantly. "Its okay. I should be the one who should say sorry.", I replied. "No, I should be the one. It's okay.", he said. I didn't want this apoligizing stuff to end as an argument so I just said bye and hanged up. He called again and still, I answered the phone. He told me to meet him at Gora Internet Shop. I asked why but he didn't give a response and hanged up. I went there at the exact time and he wasn't there yet. I waited and waited, and waited. Alas! He came sfter 1 hour. I felt kinda annoyed but kept it all in. We went inside and did the usual thing we did, play online games.
